Woman Gives Presidential Motorcade the Finger Loses Job

I might of made an on-the-spot decision and done the same thing to a Trudeau Motorcade. It's ridiculous to me that she got fired...freedom of expression...etc.
Can you clarify your position on this, Walter?
Do you think she should have lost her job for fingering the POTUS motorcade?
Or do you think it was wrong that she was fired?
It'll be interesting to hear the excuses now. Football players were allowed to protest but not on the owners dime was the story last week
My default is that what a person does at his own place on his own time should not affect his employment. The only exception I'd make if if the business can prove that the action hurt the business' profits.
It's exactly what you've been whining about and demanding... The gubmint to make the call on what is acceptable speech and what not.

Freedom of speech is sacred, it also leaves you in the position to defend it. I don't think she should have lost her job.
I don't think that you'll find many folks, other than the hardcores, that will disagree with you.
That said, she does represent the company, even when not in the office (we all do) and poking a stick at the company's biggest client (and possibly only one), you take one helluva chance at repercussions
No, I think we should regularly democratically assess what is acceptable or not.
