I agree, but here's a comparison to consider.
If somebody says, "We are putting all Muslims on notice," because one Muslim took a truck and mowed a bunch innocent people down, people would say, "You can't do that, your generalizing." and they'd be right. The same applies here. Statistically people driving cars and light vehicles kill more of each other than transport trucks do. I'd bet it's fractional. I don't even have to look it up, I'm that confident. I don't know how many close calls I've had on the road because of somebody else's inattention, but I do know a lot of professional drivers out there who navigate poor drivers every day.
It's simply easier to make generalizations to appease the torch and pitchfork folks.
