I remember back in the day in my home town, a Pit Bull bit a kid. It made the news, and for 3 months straight people were reporting that a Pit Bull sniffed their arse on the way to the grocery store. Same thing is going on here in my opinion.

It's like it has become 'cool' or 'hip' now to portray oneself as a victim of allegedly chauvinistic men. It has seemingly almost become 'virtuous' to point your finger and cry foul, no matter how slight or innocuous the transgression.
