Nope. Those are the ones that matter most. Everything else depends on them. Especially our standard of living and our pensions.Excellent point about Trump making "hate" fashionable again. Spot on. !!!
It is tragic. Sub social groups are emerging loudly and aggressively and violently.
CDA is not immune..........and like a virus this category of aggression is being activated in some cities in CDA now too.
Maybe CDA should build a wall ...

NAFTA discussions are starting today and the US is coming out with a very aggressive e and demanding statement as their opening statement. This is going to get "interesting" as US bully tactics are in full force.
That sorry excuse for a pOTUS should have strayed in his golden tower and continued with his questionable business practices. At least he would not be hurting the country ........that had so much potential. His version of the business model of governing is not working. His personal character flaws prevent him from being an effective leader.
There is a LOT more to governing than the bottom line and stock market.
superb point. And Trump's sick mind is manipulative to the nth degrees it is not outside the realm of possibility. Now Trump has a sick mind, so it makes it difficult to know if he's stupid too. Sometimes a sick mind can appear stupid when it really isn't. And if he's smarter than he appears, that sick mind could try to kick wedges in between Canada and Mexico.
I think you are misinterpreting some of the reasons for the increase in racism in the US. The election of Obama was a real kick in the gonads for many racists. Suddenly their worst fears were realized as a hated Black American became president. This motivated many of them to come out of the woodwork and become more open in their racism. Trump seemed like an answer to their prayers - a president who not only seemed to understand their hatred, but actually seems to support it. That, coupled with movements in the South to dismantle monuments honouring men who fought for slavery have resulted in a resurgence of the KKK and other White power organizations. This is helped along in the US by the fact that these sorts of racist factions can operate openly due to the American interpretation of freedom of speech.
You have a point. ;-)The fact is the whole problem was started by revisionists that took down the statue of an important figure in American history.

And? Is it wrong to take down a statue? Is this some sort of attempt at equivalency?

Facing the bully tactics in the NAFTA negotiations, Canada and Mexico will need to stand united more than ever.
I think it is a "lot" 1984ish.There is a certain 1984ishness to taking down statues as part of a campaign to "adjust" our historic memories. You are probably better off to add more beside them to add context rather than remove information altogether.
indeed. The time machine is on reverse.I think it is a "lot" 1984ish.

George wasn't far off the mark, just the date.. the far left and what some call the far right are now one and the same. Both want to make whatever they don't like illegal and whatever they want mandatory for all. Leaves us true conservatives all alone.

I think so. I equate it to burning a book you don't like. Trying to rewrite history does not change things. Education does.
