Trump’s Remarks on Charlottesville Violence Are Criticized as Insufficient

Donald Trump's racist comments are to blame for the white supremacists' violence

One interesting part of the horrific footage of events from Virginia has largely been un-commented on. The riot footage revealed paramilitary neo-Nazis in crash helmets, armed with home-made body armour, shields and batons using pre-rehersed Roman phalanx tactics to lay waste to anti-racist protestors.

This raises a number of questions. Given we have seen violent intolerance from US police forces of even peaceful Black Lives Matter activists, in what circumstances in recent years can we imagine police services allowing similarly armed black paramilitaries into enclosed public spaces where protest is going on?

As Republican President Donald Trump's comments demonstrate – suggesting equivalency between white supremacists and anti-racists – racism is part of the state apparatus and political culture.

Readers thinking there's something unusual in yesterday's events should try googling the Lynching postcard and comparing the results with all too similar Abu Graib human trophy imagery.

On Saturday white supremacists gathered to defend their filthy creed in Charlottesville, Virginia, murdered three anti-racist activists and injured many others. By his encouragement and endorsement of racism, especially but not exclusively against Mexicans and Muslims, President Donald Trump has the blood of the Charlottesville dead on his hands.

He should face charges of incitement to murder.

:laughing3: Good luck with that

Maybe we are just going to have to learn to respect people with different opinions then our. Its called multiculturalism mentalflake.

If that statue is important to these folks it seems that we should just respect that and leave them alone. Im not sure its worth getting yourself killed because you can't respect other people's opinion and history.

That's a easy one. Black lives matter.
Look at the stunts they resently pulled in Toronto gay parade.

Black lives matter. Marches many times in a year in many different cities. Sometimes with deadly consequences.

University campus are full of left radical groups. Using force to shut down events they don't agree too.

They hold campus administrators hostage over issues their opinions don't support.

Black Lives Matter are black fascists and are as left wing as the Alt-Reich Klansmen that this thread is about. They are an exact mirror, as a matter of fact.

They don't seem to be very interested in multiculturalism, either just monoculturalism, like the "good 'ole boys" who marched down in Charlottesville are.

Im not really worried about one or the other

Let them find themselves and they can kill each other off.

They are a small minority. The biggest majority of the population has already found a way to respect each other.

You figure the Americans would give Robert E Lee a pass. He only followed his state and honestly I would have too in his position.

I believe that he was the head of his class at West Point. I'm sure that he was an honorable man.

You didn't notice that the antifa were similarly armed and equipped, and generally masked as well?

Everybody has a right to lawful protest and demonstrations.

But not everybody has a right to disrupt lawful protests.

Nobody said Democracy has to be always friendly and Liberal

The left are the only ones that support dictatorships. THE DONALD is not on the left.

You are in denial.

He supports market distortion and protectionism.

His entire platform is nationalism for chrissake.

This is why you are called a Trumptard.

That wasn't very multicultural of you mentalflake. You're going to have to learn to respect other people's opinions no matter how different or wrong you believe them too be. That's what multiculturalism is about

Its very bigoted of you to be talking like that.
