Not even partly. It's city property the stairs were built on and they were a donation to the city. If he were paid to build them then it might and only might be a different story.

The fact that he had to go trespassing to even do the job is bad enough.

But if you're gonna do a job, do it right.

This is why people don't trust 'the little guy'.

A donation that was rejected by the recipient.

He would still be partly liable if anything happened. Any decent lawyer could make that stick.

My experience is that mom n pop mechanics actually cost me more than bringing it to the dealer.
W5 did an expose on auto repair shops, including dealers. Turns out the people you trust are the biggest scammers of them all.

Never trust anyone who's self employed or works for a small business.
Speaking from your own experience of not paying taxes on your pay from your DJ gigs?
That's where most of the scam artists are (like this guy).
No, they're in the Liberal Party.

Believe me, I see their financials every day.
Oh, so now you're their personal financial accountant? Yes, I'm sure all these people just open up their books to you and show you their "scams". You're an idiot. You sound like Trudeau, who is also an idiot.
Small business drives the economy. I'm guessing you're simply jealous because you never had the gumption to do anything other than be someone else's wage slave.

Every summer hundreds of play structures are donated to parks by corporations and community groups which are assembled by volunteers.

Are they held liable?

I've seen worse in a Provincial park that has way more traffic.

No the stairs are just fine. It is the bureaucrats that wanted to squander $65000+ of taxpayer's money on a $500 set of stairs. Next you will be whining because his stairs are not wheelchair accessible.

The steps are basically fine - extend the hand rail to the end of the planks at the top and maybe put some expanded metal on the planks to reduce chance of slipping in the rain!

A good temporary measure but I guarantee the city design had a ramp for wheelchairs and scooters.

those play structures are deisgned by manufacturers to specific standards and the manufacturers have liability insurance. Show me the engineering drawings of those shitty stairs the old fart built.

You don't seem to understand anything these days.

And you don't have a f**king clue about being appreciative of generosity shown by a person who was doing his best to make things better for people. But then the world is full of people like you.............................no biggie!

I'm generally not appreciative of people who want to be celebrated in the media for building an unsafe piece of shit, as if they accomplished something useful.

Block off the stairs, and use the existing path. Just because you're too lazy to use the existing path, the city shouldn't cater to your laziness.
