I find it's often best to use mild modifiers and save the stronger ones for those who get melodramatic, or for really serious situations!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, JLM but I'm not exaggerating one iota. Trump is just like the old 20th-century fascists. There is no melodrama. Trump is a fascist.
