How many people who support bombing Syria also support helping Syrian refugees? Not Trump and not a lot of his supporters. They claim moral justification for the bombing but it's only out of convenience. They don't care about helping Syrians. They just love war. They want Daddy Trump to strut around acting tough and destroying things. It makes them feel powerful and important.
Maybe just maybe our diligence is what empowers you to be a complete and total airhead oblivious to reality and allows you to be an airhead with or without you contributing to the embetternent of Canadian society as a whole.

You're welcome.

Time will tell. But he is too crass to ever be a truly sophisticated leader.

You are ignoring the fact that your government is not the people. Americans are just people like any other. Your government, on the other hand, are a bunch of psychopaths who are only beholding to the people who paid to get them elected, not the people who actually elected them.
Also, when the chemical bombing is closely scrutinized, there is no reason or benefit for Assad to do that. In fact, it was completely against his interests to do so. He has enough problems with his country torn apart to bring down the wrath of the world on him. It just does not make any sense. Follow the money. It always leads back to oil.
But. . . but. . . government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish! Honest Abe said so!

1610 degrees? That's just a hair under four and a half full rotations. No wonder Kim Jong Don sounds like that. The poor man is dizzy!

Well, we've got 3.4 million refugees from Central America, according to the Migration Policy Institute.

Here, educate yourself: Central American Immigrants in the United States | migrationpolicy.org

Or just continue whining about what bastards we are for not taking Middle Eastern refugees. Ignore the fact that we took in 86,000 in fiscal 2016.
The plan was to put them on the Reservations and let the Indians move into town. Hope you are proud that you alone wrecked that plan. Another jug of whiskey, sorry, fire-water??

But. . . but. . . government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish! Honest Abe said so!

You think Assad should be allowed to continue gassing his own people for his own entertainment?

No, and that's not my point.

I think you've misunderstood who I'm actually criticizing. You've shifted from one humanitarian crisis to another and coincidentally the people I'm criticizing probably support building a beautiful tremendous wall across the southern border. You know what? It just got 10 ft higher.

Oh. OK. Got it. Total number of refugees a country takes in is irrelevant. Only this particular flavor of refugees matters.

Still, I bet that 86,000 figure in fiscal 2016 came as a shock, didn't it?

OOPS. My bad. Sorry folks.

Meant to be whip lash rendering turn around.

Mind you some of this seems positive If we compare Trump to Trump. ( the many faces of Trump ) ;-)

He'sonly in the lead because your appearances are rare so far. Way to make up for it so fast.

This must be one of the only mod-free forums around. You gotta love that the members can take care of that on their own.

"Kim Jong Don" is my sarcastical reference to Donald John Trump, President of the United States of America. The leader of North Korea is Kim Jong Un. Please note that "Don" is a common nickname or contraction for "Donald."

In addition to being bat-shit crazy, you are breathtakingly stupid, you know that?

I wasn't sure what you meant. It seemed like you were implying these 86,000 refugees were from the Middle East, which is not true, but it could also be read at refugees in total from all countries in 2016, which I believe is actually higher than 86,000. I didn't comment because, like I'm trying to say, it's not my point.

I'm not commenting on the US admitting refugees or how many they admit or from where. I'm commenting on the attitudes of people who support bombing Syria but don't support admitting Syrian refugees.

Oil ? You are so funny , if you haven't been paying attention the world is awash in oil right now , and no longer needs middle eastern oil . Besides all those electric cars and such are driving down the demand .

As I said to Corduroy, we took in 86,000 Middle Eastern refugees in fiscal 2016. We also have about 3.4 million Central American refugees.

Yeah, we're real cold-hearted bastards.

what are you on about? how is taking in people and creating war the same thing?

Maybe just maybe our diligence is what empowers you to be a complete and total airhead oblivious to reality and allows you to be an airhead with or without you contributing to the embetternent of Canadian society as a whole.

I'm waiting for Trump to get back to his trade agenda, and off this internationalist agenda which is deeply aligned with Free Trade and American Imperialism. There is absolutely nothing positive that will come from displacing Assad is Syria... it's something that has to be worked out by the Syrians themselves.

He seems to be downgrading his protectionist platform into some kind after thought. His prospective policies for deregulation of the Financial Markets will be every bit as disastrous and Bill Clinton's dereg at the end of his term, which led directly to the 2008 derivatives debacle in 2008.

He's talking about renominating Janet Yellen for the Federal Reserve Chairman, a consumate Monetarist (commodification of money and free markets in currency and credit).. which alone could sabotage his nationalist economic program. And i haven't heard anything about ditching Nafta recently.

Stick to the knitting Donald, you're getting played by globalists and imperialists.

He's on it. His promised renegotiation of NAFTA turns out to be a handful of technical tweaks, and he just broke his promise to declare China a currency manipulator.

Precisely. And you bought his BS hook, line, and sinker.

I haven't given up on him yet. I'm hoping he takes a sextant and compass reading a gets back on course. Trump is anything but predictable and he not an ideologue.
