The fury over Trump's policies are only strengthening the resolve of his supporters. I think it's always wiser when one disapproves of political moves to let the politicians hang themselves. If the policies are as wrong as the detractors claim, the self-hanging will happen. It just takes a bit of time.
We're seeing it now in Canada. Nobody protested when Trudeau was elected; now his ratings are dropping fast due to his own words and actions.

They have no clue. Heck they don't even know who's been impeached and who hasn't.

Here's a primer for the ign'ant. Two presidents have been impeached: Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Both were acquitted.

I know, I know, "What about Nixon?" Nixon was not impeached. The articles of impeachment had been drawn up, but were not passed by the House of Representatives when Nixon resigned.

Two days into President Donald Trump’s new ban on refugees, migrants and foreign nationals from seven countries, there was still mass confusion about the details. On Sunday evening, the White House organized a briefing for reporters with two senior administration officials who agreed to explain the president’s executive order — but only on the condition anonymity.

One senior administration official explained the ground rules to reporters gathered at the White House and listening on a conference call, then said: “With that, I’ll turn it over to a senior administration official.”

“Thank you,” the other senior administration official said before beginning a 45-minute defence.

Their overarching message: Everything is going exactly according to plan, nothing has changed since the order was signed, and the news media need to calm down their “false, misleading, inaccurate, hyperventilating” coverage of the “fractional, marginal, minuscule percentage” of international travellers who have been simply “set aside for further questioning” for a couple hours on their way into the greatest country in the world.

I would be upset too if blamed for another administration's doings that wasn't an issue to media in 2015.

The administration official said the order was drafted with help from “several of the top immigration staff on Capitol Hill,” then was approved by the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel and reviewed by some government agencies. The White House purposely implemented the ban with no warning because “everybody here can use their imaginations to imagine 25 reasons that wouldn’t make sense from a security standpoint, a management standpoint, from just an airport-safety standpoint, you name it,” the senior administration official said. (The other senior administration official jumped in at one point to make clear that the order “isn’t willy-nilly.”)

To all the people outraged at Trump banning refugees: Where the **** were you when Obama was dropping bombs on their countries for 8 years?


This is by design. Obama’s “frog in boiling water” approach to war removes a clear deadline, thus stripping his use of military force of the urgency of, say, Bush’s “48 hours to get out of Baghdad” Gary Cooper approach.

Meanwhile, an anti-ISIS bombing campaign that began as “limited” “targeted" air strikes in Iraq two years ago expanded to Syria six weeks later to Afghanistan in January of this year, and to Libya this week. Combat troops and special forces have also crept into play, with US military personnel first appearing in Iraq and Syria in 2014, 2015, or 2016, depending on how one defines “boots” and “ground.”

The question pundits should be asking themselves is this: Had Obama announced on August 7, 2014, that he planned on bombing four countries and deploying troops to two of them to fight a war with “no end point,” would the American public have gone along with it?
