Maybe they do not share the same fanatical religious bent as those who run their country. Maybe they are looking for a more open society where all religions are respected and where they can work and raise their families in peace.
Maybe but I don't see that. There are lots of mosques around here and I see them trying to alter schools and workplaces. If they really wanted that lifestyle they would pursue it instead of trying to impose their stone age beliefs upon non muslim countries and its citizens......

This is nuts. Thousands of innocents who would enrich our nation now left to rot in camps/die in war zones across the world.

Leave it to the NYT to describe Muslims from sketchy regions of the world, trying to enter the USA as ... "travelers". It's bad enough that they cannot distinguish a "refugee" from a young, able-bodied, 20-something Muslim male who should be defending his own homeland instead of wrecking Europe ... and soon, America !

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has a message for refugees rejected by U.S. President Donald Trump: Canada will welcome you.

Theresa May does "not agree" with Donald Trump's refugee ban and will appeal to the US if it affects British citizens, Downing Street has said.

The prime minister was criticised for refusing to condemn President Trump's executive order on Saturday.

I think Trump should "turn over every stone" to prevent "bad customers" from entering the U.S. and to ensure their exportation if already in the country, but I think he should also "turn over every stone" to ensure he does no harm to harmless people. It's a two edged sword that he has to hone evenly!

While "turning over every stone" Trump ommitted: Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, The UAE, Pakistan, Chechnya, Egypt, Lebanon ... each and every one of those countries has produced terrorists who have killed Americans on American soil ... some of them killed thousands of Americans. Not one of the countries that the ban applies to have produced any terrorists that have killed Americans in America.

That's pretty goddam thorough! Trumps's left no stones unturned.

I just watched Conway and Reince Prebius on 2 different shows and they both blamed Obama for not including the Countries that have committed terrorist acts against the USA. The weren't asked nor offered Hotels as an excuse. Now this is fascism, in case you were wondering........

And as I wondered why not Saudi Arabia, well, we have our answer......hotels....

Even as President Trump takes steps to restrict visitors from some majority-Muslim countries, he and his family continue to do business in some of the others.

Ethics experts question whether that might indicate conflicts between Trump's business interests and his role as U.S. president.

The executive action, "Protecting The Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into The United States," targets seven nations: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Trump has no business interests in those countries.

The 19 terrorists in the Sept. 11 attacks were from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates, Myre points out. They are among the Muslim-majority countries not affected by Trump's immigration freeze, but where Trump does business.

He has significant commercial interests in Turkey and Azerbaijan, is developing properties in Indonesia and Dubai, and has formed companies in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. His daughter Ivanka said in 2015 that the company was looking at "multiple opportunities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Saudi Arabia — the four areas where we are seeing the most interest."

The ban is only temporary and for a short time. People are getting their knickers in a knot prematurely.
Trudeau and Goodale should shut up and stop poking the hornet's nest. They're likely to get stung.

Don't worry, CC. I'm quite sure there are other countries on their radar. Things like this have do be done in stages. Even as we speak, computer bots have been released which are collecting the names of all the naysayers on the Internets. Homeland Security probably has your name already. It's a ticking time bomb!

What do you think Trump and Putin were talking about the other day? Growing turnips? (Just trying to generate some fear here.)

Turnips and Taters
- such tasty tubers!

Turnips and taters
What a meal of delight!
You can fry them or boil them
By day and by night

Turnips and taters
My romantic young fool
You can eat them at home
Or take them to school

Turnips and taters
Picked at first light
Nutritious and filling
And shaped to excite!

Turnips and taters
Babushka would toil
To coax all her tubers
Out of the hard soil

Turnips and taters
Your Valentine's treat
Always willing and able
To boil, bake and eat!

Non citizens do have the same rights as Americans in America as they do
in Canada or anywhere else with a civilized government and we are starting
to question one long time civilized country. That aside it is entrenched in a
little thing call The Law.
By virtue of the fact we are all included in the statute that dictates we are
entitled to the protection of law within the boarders of a country. Therefore we
have the same rights.
Now there is a difference if one is not in a country legally. Even there those in a
country illegally have the relief of the courts to state their case and in so doing
the State accepts you have the same rights until proven other wise.
