Does This Mean That World War 3 Is About To Erupt In The Middle East?
...Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has just announced that the only reason Turkish military forces have entered northern Syria is to “end the rule of the tyrant al-Assad”.

By publicly proclaiming that Turkey intends to use military force to overthrow the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Erdogan has essentially declared war on the Syrian government. Of course this puts a member of NATO in direct military conflict with Russia, since Russia is working very hard to prop up the Assad regime.

If all-out war breaks out between Turkey and Russia, could that be the spark that causes World War 3 to erupt in the Middle East? And once Turkey and Russia start fighting, would the United States and the rest of NATO be dragged into the conflict?

Erdogan doesn't know if he's coming, going or ever been there...that syrian army and kurdish ypg troops co-operate in fighting 'moderate' and genuine rebels drives him around the bend.
When kurds and syrians attack his militants around aleppo it completes his turn around the bend, when kurds upset his get assad applecart he really looses it.
To be fair the eu is hedging on their deal to grant visa free travel for turks, the u.s. affords his nemisis safe haven and the only guy that talks nice to him supports assad, who could deny this staunch nato member and u.s. ally his disillusionment and disenchantment with all things brotherly.

With Aleppo about to fall into Syrian control perhaps it is an attempt at a distraction. I don't think the statement came as a big shock to anybody. Saying it and doing it are two different beasts. Turkey doesn't want to be left out in the cold, presently she is neither an EU member or a a Mid-East Allie.
I say she follows the money and joins the mid-east bloc and allows pipelines with oil that isn't his. The refugees that he is holding over the EU's head will go south where economic gains can be made.
