No one wants to further pollute our land, but we need jobs man and we truly need to depend much less on the USA. This will do it, if it's not a ruse by JT to kill Northern Gateway in favour of a scam. If the Liberals think they can put a veil over Canadians eyes with a delayed ruse, they are dumber than they look. They need to start this project ASAP and not wait until the next election, or they will be out on their asX.

Saying no to NG was an absolute no-brainer for the government, rem and gave them some moral authority to say yes to Line 3 and Kinder Morgan.

Neither of these projects will be quick off the drawing board. There are 157 different environmental restrictions that will be put in place before work either continues or begins. The easiest project, IMO will be Line 3 as it will replace older existing pipe.

Just oil sands? Bummer.

Paris Accord has been blown to bits, now what Flosshole?

Can't they make it up by harvesting lots and lots and lots. of carbon tax from us? Doesn't taxing the crap out of us make our CO2 production all better?

He needs pots of money, more. There is a "carbon tax" that would do a dandy job of filling up the general revenue well. Besides, there is nothing that Liberals like more than punitive things used for social engineering. Ontario is chock-ablock with things like HOV lanes that are meant to change our behaviour.

The only reason oil is low is to pummel Putin. If you think we have it bad, Russia is 100X worse off.

He should have never f-cked with the Ukrs.

No one takes targets seriously.

They're just put in there to get governments to do something rather than nothing.

We have the pipelines and carbon pricing.

We're set.

Tell that to Lizzie May who seems to be under the impression that they are set in stone

They're just put in there to get governments to do something rather than nothing.
On this, we agree

We have the pipelines and carbon pricing.
We do

We're set.
Not quite.............we await the approval of the XL line which will come Day 1 of Trump's presidency.

Then we'll be set.

No, let's keep them in Canada.

Fukk the U.S.
I love the US, the US treats Canada like a brother.
The USA buys about 80% of everything Canada produces. They are a great customer.

One of the greatest and strongest countries in the whole wide world,,,,,living right next to us!! Woo Hoo, go USA!!

Agree putin was the target in the cooked up oil glut but he has gas aplenty that the eu really appreciates, britain and u.s. are firmly in the anti establishment camp with france, italy, austria, hungary and holland shaping up as new members with some postulating that closer ties with russia makes $ense. Brussels of course hates this populous movement that challenges their fiefdom, even the merkel bloom has faded.
With trump beating the protectionist drum and the eu warming to russia we hafta hope our leader has a utile global plan beyond carbon taxes as well as a plan B, trump said he likes keystone but bitumen is a tough sell and he has been known to change gears.

New environment rules are going to make it much easier to monitor and prevent future spills.
