What is it that is dangerous about protecting the livelihood of the citizens of your country. We elect governments to do just that. We do not elect them to take all our money and give it away to others without any benefit to us. Do you seek to put every average Canadian citizen into poverty so the citizens of Zambia or Laos can have a better lifestyle? Seriously...explain how and why you seem to support taking the fruits of my labour and using them to provide a better life for people in other countries especially when I do not want to give my labour for that reason.

I don't agree with Canada giving money to other countries either, but that's not what I'm talking about. Free trade does not take money from anyone to give to anyone. It merely gives consumers more choice.

As for immigration, it depends on the details. But if we adopt open labour-market agreements whereby anyone can come to Canada to attend school, work, or do business, then if anything, he's contributing. He's spending his own money on Canada's education industry, or working or doing business and paying taxes on his profits to the governmnet. If anything, he would now be giving the fruits of his labour to Canada instead of another government.

However, in Trump's case, it's not all about economics. For him, ust of it just has to do with keeping the 'spics' and the 'muzzies' out for its own sake.

Why is Kellie considered a racist? She supports tougher and more thorough screening of Canadian values in immigrants who wish to move here. That doesn't make her racist.

And just what are these values? From what I've read about her values, I doubt even I would pass her values test and I was born and raised in Canada and trace my roots right back to New France. So if even I probably couldn't pass it, how are we going to expect foreign nationals to?

Nobody ever did tell me, after repeated questioning, what exactly "Canadian values" are. Hockey and poutine? Toques and flannel? The superiority of whites?

Oh, I can imagine the Canadian values test now: official bilingualism, the separate school system, and a bit of revisionist history.

At the risk of beating a dead horse, this thread is about the leftist Trump, not the Clintons, though I do understand your need to keep trying to make it about the Clintons. If I supported a leftist while pretending I was conservative, I might try to throw mud around....actually, I wouldn't because I'm not a hypocrite.

at the risk of beating on a dead horse's asif
left IS clinton

Canadians don't have values.

That's what makes Canada great.

Speak for yourself. Aside from my family and friends, I value savoury and spicy vegan, and curried vegan too. I value cycling in summer and snowshoeing in winter. Put that on a values test.

Nobody is really sure where Trump is. He was clearly blurting out whatever could get him elected but finding a discernable pattern in that string of left-right-left-right announcements is keeping a lot of punditry employed, right now.
Nobody is really sure what Trump is going to do about anything. I wonder if he knows?

I don't care for Vegan. They are too stringy and chewy.

You mean you don't share my Canadian values? We'd better agre on something soon otherwise Leitch won't know what questions to include in the test.

What he is, is kinda beside the point. His ideas that are drawing support (aside from his misogyny and racist ideas) are clearly left wing. I think why some of the Trumpites are getting pissy is that they are starting to realize that they are becoming pretty transparent. If you're truly a fiscal conservative (like so many claim to be) then you really can't like Trump's ideas. So why else would you like him...oh yeah...the racism thing.

mentalfloss is a lefty

So are you.

I don't disagree with you there. We're now heading down a dangerous path, and I wouldn't discount Leitch becoming head of a new and pupoular Conservative Party of Canada unfortunately.

I'll discount it all the way to the voting. I do not discount Kevin O'Leary entering the fray .............in which case all bets are off.
