MHz, truly, the matter may not concern me, and I don't understand it thoroughly, and so I may wrong this one or that one, but it is only my impression.

Therefore, I withdraw from this matter.

PETA launches Trump-inspired 'Grab a *****' campaign (i.e. cat)
First posted: Thursday, October 13, 2016 06:52 PM EDT | Updated: Thursday, October 13, 2016 07:13 PM EDT
Here's an animal rights campaign that will give you paws.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) are taking a cue from Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The organization is launching it's "Grab a *****" campaign to encourage people to adopt stray cats.
It references Trump's foul-mouthed comments to Billy Bush on Access Hollywood in 2005.
"The sensationalism of this election has rendered many other important issues invisible," PETA President Ingrid Newkirk told the New York Daily News. "We hope this twist in our approach will cause people to open their minds to the crisis facing animals, and open their home to a beautiful cat from a shelter. "
It will launch just before Nov. 8 -- election day -- in New York City.

Men. This **** is real. - Annie Watts

I feel so bogged down this week with this bright light being shone on just how differently you all see the world than us women do. I heard so many men this week - good, respectable, admirable men - laugh off Trump as an orange buffoon, a clown who has put his foot in his mouth, who stupidly got caught on tape saying dumb things. But us women? Men, we are rattled. All the women I have talked to this week are in the same state of sorrow. Of anger. Of trauma. Of being triggered to remember the huge list of incidents we have all lived through with men like Trump. The ones who think they can do anything they want. The ones who followed us at night and made us grasp the sharpest objects in our purse. The ones who can't take no for an answer at a bar or party. The ones who get off on flashing their dick to girls (PS the first time this happened to me I was the same age as my first grade daughter). And, yes, the ones who grabbed our *****. Because they could. Because it was their power. And because it takes away ours. Ask any women, we all have these stories. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
We've seen so many humorous captions to these photos of Trump lurking behind Clinton during the debates but it's not funny. It's scary as ****. And to those who say that women are being oversensitive, being weak, being emotional, you bet your *** we're emotional. Regardless of your view on Clinton, you have to understand how truly sick it is that the first woman to be in this historic election has to deal with this sort of ****ed up intimidation by a man like this. This is not funny.

There's an old saying "what's good for the goose is good for the gander". If Bill can get away with being an arch sleaze, why can't Trump get away with just being a run of the mill sleaze?

So what you are saying that if someone else breaks the law then it justifies everyone breaking the law. I believe that is called a non-sequitur.

Well, no. "Non sequitur" means "does not follow." It refers to a comment made during the course of a dialogue that does not appear to have any relationship to the dialogue as it has progressed to that point. Also known as "out of left field."

JLM's little thing (no, not THAT little thing, his moving-target "eye for an eye," "good for the goose/gander" whatever) is just a thinly-disguised tu quoque fallacy.

Either way, by JLM's own stated rules, feel free to wish him an early and painful death.

JOINT STATEMENT BY FORMER NUCLEAR LAUNCH OFFICERS

Scores of leaders and experts from both political parties have questioned whether Donald Trump has the experience, temperament and judgment to have his finger on the proverbial “Red Button.” We share their concern – and we see the issue from a unique perspective.

We are former nuclear launch control officers, or “missileers.” We sat nuclear alert in underground missile launch centers. It was our job to turn keys to fire nuclear-armed missiles if the president so ordered us. Once we began alert duty, we took orders from the president and no one else.

Only the president can order a nuclear launch. That order cannot be vetoed and once the missiles have been launched, they cannot be called back. The consequences of miscalculation, impulsive decision-making or poor judgment on the part of the president could be catastrophic.

The pressures the system places on that one person are staggering and require enormous composure, judgment, restraint and diplomatic skill. Donald Trump does not have these leadership qualities. On the contrary, he has shown himself time and again to be easily baited and quick to lash out, dismissive of expert consultation and ill-informed of even basic military and international affairs – including, most especially, nuclear weapons.

Donald Trump should not be the nation’s commander-in-chief. He should not be entrusted with the nuclear launch codes. He should not have his finger on the button.

Us women, you say? (try 'we' women, for starters!).

As you say, most women have had some of these things happen to us. But- we have not all handled it by becoming frightened, bitter, traumatized or intimidated. Some of us have not given men that power to the men who try to take advantage of us.

Some of us made it clear to those men who acted improperly right from the start that we would not tolerate that kind of behavior.
We chose to assert ourselves instead of whining about it for the rest of our lives. No aggressor/bully has power over us but that which we give him.

There are women who invite lewd behavior from men deliberately. Some actually enjoy it and some whine about it. Those are the people who disgust me and make me want to slap them silly. Women want respect and equal rights? Then women need to conduct themselves in a way that commands respect and stand up for their equal rights in a dignified way. Women don't get respect by whining about how badly they have been treated. They get it by acting like they deserve respect and by dealing directly with those who are disrespectful.

It makes me shudder to think that a woman who was allegedly groped by a strange man on an airplane would not have taken immediate action to deal with the situation but would wait 35 years and then play the part of the victim.

I asked my husband, 'What would you say if I told you that had happened to me 35 years ago?'. He laughed and replied, 'I would say I'm glad I was not that man!'.

Former Sun reporter accusing Donald Trump of sex attack
Trump tweets 'it did not happen!'
By Antonella Artuso, Toronto Sun
First posted: Thursday, October 13, 2016 09:32 AM EDT | Updated: Thursday, October 13, 2016 04:27 PM EDT
U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump lashed out at the media Thursday for publishing accusations of sexual misconduct, including an allegation by a former Toronto Sun entertainment writer who said he forced his tongue down her throat.
In a noon speech to supporters, Trump said the New York Times “and others” were publishing false and slanderous claims despite being offered proof to the contrary.
“This is nothing more than an attempt to destroy our movement,” Trump said.
Natasha Stoynoff, who wrote hundreds of articles for the Sun in the late 1990s and early 2000, said she was manhandled by Trump in 2005 at Mar-A-Lago when she was working at People Magazine and had been assigned to interview him and his very pregnant wife Melania.
“We walked into that room alone, and Trump shut the door behind us. I turned around, and within seconds he was pushing me against the wall and forcing his tongue down my throat,” she alleged in a posting on the magazine’s website.
Although a “tall, strapping girl,” Stoynoff said Trump was much bigger and took her by surprise.
“I was grateful when Trump’s longtime butler burst into the room a minute later, as I tried to unpin myself,” she said in the posting.
In response to Stoynoff’s claims, Trump asked why she didn’t write about it at the time. Then Trump said his supporters should “look at her” and take a look at her words.
“I don’t think so,” he said.
Stoynoff’s accusation does not stand alone — several women have made similar claims.
Trump’s campaign dismissed the allegations as having no merit or veracity, and it attacked one of the media outlets that published the women’s accounts as acting on a vendetta.
In a letter from his attorneys, Trump demanded the New York Times retract what he called a “libelous article” and apologize.
During his speech, Trump called the Times piece a “full page hit piece.” Jason Miller, Trump’s campaign spokesman, said in a separate statement that “to reach back decades in an attempt to smear Mr. Trump trivializes sexual assault, and it sets a new low for where the media is willing to go in its efforts to determine this election.”
A story published in the Times said Jessica Leeds, 74, of New York, told the newspaper she encountered Trump on an airline flight three decades ago. Leeds said Trump grabbed her breasts and tried to put his hand up her skirt.
“He was like an octopus,” she told the newspaper. “His hands were everywhere.”
Rachel Crooks, of Ohio, said she met Trump at Trump Tower in 2005. Age 22 at the time, Crooks said Trump kissed her “directly on the mouth” against her will.
Trump denied the accusations, telling the Times, “None of this ever took place.” The letter from his lawyers said unless the paper removed the article from its website and ceased further publication, it would pursue “all available actions and remedies.”
Separately on Wednesday, the Palm Beach Post in Florida reported that Mindy McGillivray, 36, told the newspaper that Trump groped her at his Mar-a-Lago estate 13 years ago.
Trump’s campaign has denied the allegation.
First Lady Michelle Obama said Thursday she was shocked that a candidate for the presidency — she did not name names — would brag about sexually assaulting women.
Trump countered that an “incompetent” President Barack Obama is more concerned with campaigning against him than running the country.

Media colleagues speak out on behalf of Trump complainant

By Liz Braun, Postmedia Network
First posted: Sunday, October 16, 2016 07:21 PM EDT | Updated: Sunday, October 16, 2016 07:28 PM EDT
Donald Trump picked the wrong woman if it turns out sexual misconduct allegations involving Canadian journalist Natasha Stoynoff are true.
This is a woman whose sterling character is going to make the usual gutless victim-blaming impossible.
When someone is known to everyone she encounters for her honesty, integrity, work ethic and sincerity, it’s difficult to generate much of a smear campaign.
The Donald wants you to know that all the women who accuse him of being a sexual predator are liars, out for profit, determined to influence the election or otherwise shady.
But Natasha Stoynoff is not so easily dismissed — former colleagues from various media outlets, including People Magazine, are speaking out on her behalf.
Loudly.
Stoynoff says that while working as a reporter for People Magazine, Trump forced himself on her in 2005, when she was interviewing him for a feature on the one-year anniversary of his marriage to Melania Trump. Stoynoff wrote in an article — published on the magazine’s website — that Trump was giving her a tour of his Mar-a-Lago mansion when he said he wanted to show her a special room. He shut the door “and within seconds, he was pushing me against the wall, and forcing his tongue down my throat.”
Trump has emphatically dismissed allegations of abuse from Stoynoff and other women who have come forward.
Stoynoff said the encounter was interrupted by Trump’s butler. Afterward, she said she told a colleague at People, who encouraged her to disclose the incident to her editor, but she said she didn’t because she feared retaliation.
In denying Stoynoff’s allegations, Trump told a crowd last week: “When you looked at that horrible woman last night, you said, ‘I don’t think so.’”
He also tweeted: “Why didn’t the writer of the twelve year old article in People Magazine mention the ‘incident’ in her story. Because it did not happen!”
Stoynoff worked at the Toronto Sun and the Toronto Star in the 1990s before moving to the U.S. and working for Time and People magazines. She worked in the entertainment department at the Sun, and we had many intense conversations about life, love, work, writing, ethics and all the rest of it.
What my colleagues and I know for certain is that Stoynoff is one of the good guys.
She is sunny and smart and open to the world, and her B.S. level is always set to zero.
In addition to reporting the allegations to a colleague at People Magazine, Stoynoff made sure she was taken off the Trump “beat” so she never had to interview the guy again.
And why didn’t she shout it from the rooftops?
Stoynoff put into words (for People) what so many sexual assault victims struggle to articulate:
“Like many women, I was ashamed and blamed myself for his transgression. I minimized it (“It’s not like he raped me ...”); I doubted my recollection and my reaction. I was afraid that a famous, powerful, wealthy man could and would discredit and destroy me, especially if I got his coveted People feature killed.
“I just want to forget it ever happened ...”
Got that? Remember those points for future reference: I blamed myself; I doubted my own recollections; I was afraid that powerful guy could wreck my life if I said anything; I just wanted to forget about it.
If we were a betting person, we’d bet that once it is 100% sure that Trump will lose this election, the horror stories are going to come flooding out.
Until then, few are brave enough to report another person’s misdeeds if the villain of the piece is potentially going to become a world leader — and potentially could make your life a living hell.
Most people keep their mouths shut when dealing with someone they believe is an underhanded bully, a cheat at business and marriage, a racist, ageist, misogynistic blowhard, a liar and an alleged sexual predator.
Luckily, Natasha Stoynoff is not most people.

North Carolina police: GOP office damaged by fire, graffiti
Jonathan Drew, The Associated Press
First posted: Sunday, October 16, 2016 04:33 PM EDT | Updated: Monday, October 17, 2016 01:02 AM EDT
HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — A local Republican Party office in North Carolina was torched by a flammable device and someone spray-painted an anti-GOP slogan referring to “Nazi Republicans” on a nearby wall, authorities said Sunday.
A bottle filled with flammable liquid was thrown through the window of the Orange County Republican Party headquarters overnight, according to a news release from the town of Hillsborough. The substance ignited and damaged the interior before burning out. No one was injured.
On Sunday afternoon, the walls of the multi-room office were covered in black char, and a couch against one wall had been burned down to its springs. Shattered glass covered the floor, and melted campaign yard signs showed warped lettering.
The news release from authorities said an adjacent building was spray-painted with the words: “Nazi Republicans leave town or else.” The graffiti had been covered in paint by late afternoon.
Another business owner discovered the damage Sunday morning. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is working with local investigators.
State GOP executive director Dallas Woodhouse said people sometimes work after-hours, and he felt lucky that no one was there at the time. He said the bottle appeared to have landed on or near the couch where volunteers sometimes take naps.
“They are working around the clock. It is a miracle that nobody was killed,” he said in an interview, calling the fire “political terrorism.”
He said Republican offices around the state were re-examining their security.
The violent act in the key battleground state was condemned by public figures across the political spectrum.
Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president said on Twitter that the attack “is horrific and unacceptable. Very grateful that everyone is safe.”
Republican nominee Donald Trump blamed the act on Democrats in a Tweet and also he encouraged local Republicans, saying: “With you all the way, will never forget. Now we have to win. Proud of you all!”
At a news conference, Woodhouse urged Republicans to respond peacefully by turning out to vote in November. He said he’d received messages of support from Democrats.
Orange County GOP chairman Daniel Ashley told reporters that no one had previously made violent threats against the office several miles from the town’s historic square. The GOP office is several doors down from a shuttered ice rink in what was once a frontier-themed amusement park that is now a retail complex known as The Shops at Daniel Boone.
Tom Stevens, mayor of the town about 40 miles northwest of Raleigh, said that it was fortunate the fire didn’t burn the office and other adjacent buildings that are decades old to the ground.
Stevens, a Democrat, said the act doesn’t represent the character of Orange County, which also includes much of Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina campus. Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by a 3-1 margin in the county that picked President Barack Obama by a lopsided margin in the 2012 election.
“I’d like to believe we aspire to respect hearing differing views,” Stevens said in an interview. “This is very troubling.”
Stevens said he wasn’t aware of any leads on suspects.

'Today' host Billy Bush fired after lewd Donald Trump tape airs
David Bauder, The Associated Press
First posted: Monday, October 17, 2016 07:30 PM EDT | Updated: Monday, October 17, 2016 09:18 PM EDT
NEW YORK - NEW YORK — NBC News on Monday fired “Today” show host Billy Bush, who was caught on tape in a vulgar conversation about women with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump before an “Access Hollywood” appearance.
Bush was suspended at the morning show two days after contents of the 2005 tape were reported on Oct. 7. Once it became clear he wouldn’t be back, NBC and Bush’s representatives had been negotiating terms of his exit.
On the tape, Bush is heard laughing as Trump talks about fame enabling him to grope and try to have sex with women not his wife. Trump has denied groping women, and Bush later said he was “embarrassed and ashamed” by what was caught on tape.
NBC made the announcement of his firing in a note from “Today” show top executive Noah Oppenheim to his staff. Oppenheim called Bush, who spent 15 years at “Access Hollywood,” ”a valued colleague and longtime member of the broader NBC family. We wish him success as he goes forward.“
Bush, a 44-year-old father of three and nephew of former President George H.W. Bush, said that he was “deeply grateful for the conversations I’ve had with my daughters, and for all of the support from family, friends and colleagues. I look forward to what lies ahead.”
The settlement with NBC did not include a non-compete clause, meaning Bush “is a free agent,” said his lawyer, Marshall Grossman. Financial terms of the deal were kept confidential.
In an interview with CNN on Monday, Trump’s wife, Melania, said that her husband was “egged on” by Bush in the conversation.
“I wonder if they even knew the mic was on,” Melania Trump said, referring to her husband and Bush. She said they were involved in “boy talk, and he was led on — like egged on — from the host to say dirty and bad stuff.”
Asked to comment, Grossman said, “I thought that Donald Trump would claim that he was not on the bus.”
In the 2005 tape, which was first revealed by The Washington Post, Trump discusses unsuccessfully seeking an affair with another “Access Hollywood” employee, Nancy O’Dell. Trump said that when he was attracted to beautiful women “I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet.” He said that when you’re a star, women let you.
“Grab them by the p----. You can do anything,” Trump added.
The two men discussed an actress who was waiting from at the end of the bus ride. When they got off, Bush urged the woman to hug Trump and added, “how about a little hug for the Bushy?”
Trump said in the second presidential debate that he never did any of the actions heard on the tape, which he described as locker room talk. But a number of women have since come forward and said that Trump had surprised them in the past by groping or unexpectedly kissing them on the lips.
Bush had only worked at “Today” for two months. Since women make up roughly two-thirds of the audience during the hour that he hosted, he faced an uphill battle gaining the trust of viewers.
NBC, which did not comment on the agreement beyond Oppenheim’s statement, had Harry Connick Jr. filling in for Bush on Monday and Tuesday.

#BabesforTrump show their support for The Donald with racy Instagram pics

A bevvy of bikini babes is backing GOP candidate Donald Trump’s pursuit of the presidency.
The group’s existence is shocking given that the moody mogul's polling numbers with women tend to be disastrous to non-existent.
Calling themselves #BabesforTrump these pretty partisans post scores of sexy snaps of themselves draped in the Star Spangled Banner, Trump gear -- and not much else.
The 70-year-old candidate has frequently found himself in hot water with women during the campaign. Most recently, a 2005 video emerged of the Republican giving Billy Bush lewd advice.
#BabesForTrump’s Keleigh Glover told the Daily Star the women are unabashedly supporting the tycoon.
"I am a woman. I am not offended. I have heard much worse. I have said much worse,” Glover told the tabloid. "I do not care about Mr. Trump’s private words about women from 11 years ago.
"The bottom line is that this is a distraction from the real issues. This was a planned release to coincide with the latest damning WikiLeaks dump, which proves Hillary’s nefarious intentions."
Glover added that the video’s release was meant as a distraction to keep the heat off Hillary and Bill Clinton.
"There’s this idea that only rich, old, white men support Trump,” Glover said. "Many of us are young, attractive, intelligent millennial women. But even my mom has been involved!"
Meanwhile, the young man who created Twinks4Trump has been banned from social media giant Facebook for a month.
Lucian Wintrich -- a gay Trump supporter -- told Breitbart News he was banished after he posted a screenshot of hate mail he received. The missive threatened to inform his employers.
But he’s self-employed.
“This charming individual read about me in the New Yorker made the wonderful decision to contact me claiming that my support of Trump and curation of the #DaddyWillSaveUs art show would somehow result in the ‘repeal of gay marriage and Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,'” Wintrich told Breitbart.
“I posted the screenshot of the interaction on Facebook, 10 hours later Facebook pulled it & suspended me for 30 days.”
Wintrich hosted the pro-Trump art show #DaddyWillSaveUs and included pieces by Yiannopoulos, Martin Shkreli, and Gavin McInnes, and his own Twinks4Trump exhibition.

Michigan billboard written in Arabic says Trump is 'afraid'
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

DEARBORN, Mich. — A billboard written in Arabic located along a Michigan interstate near an Arab-American community is calling Donald Trump “afraid.”
The Detroit Free Press reports the sign translates into English as, “Donald Trump, he can’t read this, but he is afraid of it.” The sign went up last weekend and the Free Press reports it’s funded by the Nuisance Committee super PAC, which was started by the creator of the Cards Against Humanity card game.
A spokeswoman for Nuisance Committee tells the newspaper it picked Dearborn because of its high percentage of Arab Americans in a swing state.
Trump called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States earlier this year. He’s now calling for an “extreme vetting” of people entering the country.

Humane Society's 'Grab a *****...cat' campaign goes awry

WINDSOR, Ont. - If the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society wanted to court Donald Trump levels of controversy with its latest cat adoption ad, they surely got it on Wednesday morning.
The organization received multiple complaints — and hundreds of social media shares — because of an advertisement that made explicit reference to Trump’s infamous “grab ’em by the *****” comment.
“You don’t have to be a star to grab a *****… cat,” the ad joked, informing the public that all shelter cats over six months old can be adopted for $50 from Oct. 19 to 23.
Reaction was swift. “Tasteless” and “vulgar” were common responses. Some members of the public decried the ad as perpetuating “rape culture.” Others found it humorous — no different than a joke one would hear from a late night talk show host.
Windsor West MPP Lisa Gretzky was not amused, stating she was “profoundly, deeply disappointed and disturbed” by the ad.
Gretzky showed the ad to her fellow MPPs Percy Hatfield and Taras Natyshak, and personally contacted the Humane Society to complain.
“We must ensure that demeaning behavior towards women is not perpetuated,” Gretzky wrote in a follow-up tweet. “Regardless of intent, it is never acceptable.”
Around 12:40 p.m., less than three hours since the ad was posted, the Humane Society removed it from all its social media platforms.
The Humane Society’s executive director, Melanie Coulter, apologized for the ad, and said the organization never intended to make light of sexual assault.
“Our intent was to poke fun at the U.S. election,” Coulter said. “To come up with an idea that people would find funny and share, and hopefully get cats into good homes.”
Coulter said the ad was conceived and created by female Humane Society staff members, and vetted by a number of people.
The organization wanted to encourage cat adoption because the shelter is full: They received 145 felines last week alone.
“We were thinking, ‘Okay, we need to do an adoption program … What can we do that will get people talking and people will share?'” Coulter explained. “We thought, ‘Everybody’s talking about the U.S. election.'”
Asked if she’s worried about the controversy affecting the Humane Society’s reputation, Coulter said she hopes no one will hold this against the organization.
“Our intent with our promotions is never to offend anybody … I hope that people would understand that our focus was on trying to get cats adopted.”
Earlier this week, notoriously scandalous animal rights group PETA received backlash for making the same joke in a cat adoption campaign. But Coulter said the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society wasn’t inspired by the PETA ad.
“We hadn’t seen that one,” Coulter said.
Coulter pointed out that the Humane Society has used humour — or at least, attempted humour — in other advertisements. For example, an image of a shelter cat named Benson who’s up for adoption was Photoshopped to make reference to the “creepy clown” phenomenon.
“I’m sorry,” Coulter said. “I’m just going to apologize to everyone today.”

Eminem has announced he is working on a new album by releasing a song about the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
The 8 Mile star took to Twitter on Wednesday to reveal new material is coming in the near future, and to satisfy his fans while they wait for the album, he released a politically-inspired song titled Campaign Speech, in which he takes aim at U.S. presidential hopeful Donald Trump.
“Don’t worry I’m working on an album!” he wrote on the social media site. “Here’s something meanwhile.”
In the track, the 44-year-old raps, “Consider me a dangerous man/But you should be afraid of this dang candidate/You say Trump don’t kiss a-- like a puppet?/’Cause he runs his campaign with his own cash for the funding?/And that’s what you wanted?/A f---ing loose cannon who’s blunt with his hand on the button/Who doesn’t have to answer to no one?/ Great idea!”
He also goes after Trump’s supporters in the song, rapping, “Run the faucet/I’m a dunk a bunch of Trump supporters underwater.”
Eminem released his last album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, in 2013.

Gez, I guess he didn't read the McLean's article about who was supporting Trump - the listed 11 people who were not "despicable" but "well-educated" individuals who say they're voting for Trump. Lets see - there was a "middle school" teacher, an Engineer, a University Professor (Huh???), an MBA student - that's as far as I got (read it in a waiting room of my son's physiotherapist). Unfortunately, I didn't get to read all of the article but it surprised me that of those that I read, the reason they were voting were pretty much what we've been hearing from others who may or may not be "as educated."

Just thought I'd throw that in....
