No I can't, that kind of makes the other 99 Nations irrelevant so why don't they just boycott the UN and quit paying any dues? Let the 5 (+1) bankroll the whole thing if their vote is the only ones that counts.

Very good question that begs an answer.
With the u.s. fingering russia as a hostile nation taking advantage of a place like crimea it's hard to understand obama agreeing to a tag team effort with them in syria.
Nuther conflict brewing with china and russia challenging a un directive in the south china sea where again the u.s. and russia/china will face off, I see little hope for longevity of the syrian tag team.

Have to wonder too how long the cold war will remain cold or at least cool with all the recent sabre rattling.

I think we need a return to the Cold War daze. That way, Russia and the US can practise dropping New-clear weapons on regions middle of the east and North of your Korea.

Years ago, a person knew where he stood. It was a MAD world...but we liked it!

Fixing Old Things that Worked!

We've got DNA unravelled
Umbilicals on ice
We can harvest and regrow new cells
And efficiently gene splice

With all this tech behind us
The Middle East and Korea raging
Let's do the thing we need to do
And dig up Ronald Reagan!

The donald has russophobia running wild in washington, when barac starts comparing putin to hussein putin had better find a more secure hole than hussein had. Hussein was accused of having wmds and it cost him his life at the end of a rope and iraqi citizens years of misery. Putin does have wmds so his situation becomes really precarious when barac draws a comparison twixt he and hussein that was lynched even though wmds were never found. I imagine putin saw the u.s. sponsored shock and awe show in iraq so I'd wager he is beefing up his counter punch punch. The u.s. talks peace but their actions belie their words which bods poorly for the u.s./rus tag team, u.s. wants to butcher assad whilst russia vies to shield him so I can't for the life of me see any success for this tag team.

Actually Gulf War I was the start of years of misery for the citizens of Iraq. The invasion of Kuwait was over slant drilling or did you not know that tid-bit.

Yeah desert storm was the pretext but his death certificate was validated by drummed up wmd lies, hussein was a threat to the world so u.s. power was showcased with a live shock and awe video to thwart him. The exposed wmd lie resulted in massive blood flow and boundless misery yet bore no consequence for uk or u.s. hawks, on the contrary it emboldened them. Bottom line is putin best cover his butt as barac is suggesting he like assad is a threat to world calm, difficult for nations to embrace disarmament and reduce nuclear tools while hawks are free to roam.

The US and Co only attack countries that are disarmed and defenseless.

Russian Military: U.S. Not Fulfilling' Syria Agreement — Naharnet
Russia on Thursday accused Washington of failing to meet its obligations under the Syria ceasefire agreement, while criticizing US officials for voicing skepticism over cooperation with Moscow.
Russian military spokesman Igor Konashenkov slammed the US for what he called "rhetorical fog" intended "to hide the fact that it is not fulfilling its part of the obligations."
In a statement, he defined the US role as "first and foremost to separate 'moderate opposition' groups from terrorists".
"As of the third day (of the truce), only the Syrian army is observing the regime of silence. At the same time, the 'moderate opposition' led by the US is increasing the amount of attacks on residential districts," Konashenkov said.
He insisted: "Russia has respected its obligations to fulfil the ceasefire regime in Syria from the first minute."
US officials have voiced scepticism that Russia will fulfil its part of the agreement struck last week between the two former Cold War adversaries after years of bad blood over Moscow's Ukraine and Syria policies.
Under the agreement, US and Russia said they will establish a "Joint Implementation Centre" to share targeting information for air strikes in Syria if the truce that went into effect on Monday holds for one week.
Several Pentagon officials have told AFP of their deep unease over the Syria truce, with one saying: "The timeframe is short, but there's a gulf of trust that's larger than the timeframe."

While the United States has consistently backed what Washington refers to as "moderate" rebels in the Syrian conflict, video released Friday appears to show those same moderate fighters turning on American Special Forces.

On Friday, the Pentagon announced that dozens of US Special Operations Forces had been deployed to Syria to fight alongside the Turkish military and so-called moderate Syrian rebels. "At the request of the government of Turkey, US special operations forces are accompanying Turkish and vetted Syrian opposition forces as they continue to clear territory from ISIL [Daesh] in and around the area of the Syrian border near Jarabulus and Ar Rai," Pentagon spokesman Jeff Davis told reporters.
These joint ops appear to be off to a rocky start.

The Syrian military said that aircraft of the US-led coalition targeted Syrian government forces near Deir ez-Zor airport, state media reported.

The attack resulted in casualties and destroyed Syrian army's equipment and "clearly paved the way" for Daesh terrorist group to advance and gain control over the position, the General Command said as quoted by SANA. Damascus called the US-led coalition's alleged attack a "serious and blatant aggression" against Syria and Syrian government army. The Syrian military added that it "constitutes conclusive evidence that the United States and its allies support ISIS [Daesh] and other terrorist organizations, stressing that this act reveals the falseness of their claims of fighting terrorism."

Washington has been reluctant to make its ceasefire deal with Russia on Syria public because this would turn the spotlight on those who are not complying, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Saturday.

BISHKEK (Sputnik) — Russia has been urging the United States to disclose the details of the deal on Syria, which came into force on Monday. It aims to end violence in Syria and allow for relief aid deliveries. "The only reason why they apparently don’t want to make it public is because the international community, as well as American and Russian public will immediately find out who is not abiding by the deal," Putin said in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

every last dime of BILLIONS in aid illegal right there
from the countree that sank the USS Liberty

that's theft of billions
and that's just one country

Some god you got there...and an apartheid one at that
if he was real would you honestly need two hundred nukes to defend what you have stolen?
'cause I don't see a deed that proves they own that land
Perhaps because there isn't one
