Alberta’s “cowboy culture” REAL target of Vancouver “hipster” attacks on Chuckwagon events



The rodeo is a big part of the fabric of Alberta, and each summer we can look forward to it, along with the certainty that a left wing urban do-gooder in Vancouver will hate it.

Every year around Calgary Stampede time, the Vancouver Humane Society (VHS) attacks the sport of rodeo and this year was no different.

Peter Fricker, VHS Director of Communications did his best rodeo bashing yet in a Huffington Post article calling the sport of rodeo “cruel”, saying the animals perform based on fear and suffering. He included pictures of animals with strange looks on their faces as some sort of proof of this cruelty.

VHS loves to attack the Chuckwagon events in particular maligning the sport for the few tragic and heartbreaking horse deaths that can happen in a worst case scenario.

Lived in Vancouver since the 70's and have never heard of this 'organisation' I use italics since I know the address they use it's a run down 3 story walkup in a rapidly gentrifying part of town I drive by there twice a day or more while working and that building won't be there much longer.

I think the chances of them actually effecting any change on society are slim to none.
