The only way the Americans can take the gold is to exclude the Russians from the games.

It depends what sport.

The Americans excel over the Russians in having black people running really fast around a track to try and be the first to the KFC Bargain Buckets at the finishing line, whereas the Russians excel over the Americans at jumping over things and chucking things about.

And the Briddish take a silver and three bronzes, then go make a movie about the last time they amounted to a pile of dogsh*t, a century or so back.

We won 29 golds in London whereas America - five times bigger than the UK - only managed a paltry 46.

Britain would have out-medalled America had our populations been the same.
Woulda, shoulda, coulda. Fact is we out-medaled you. On your own turf.

You can fantasize whatever you want. Quidditch World Cup, you're a significant power, whatever it takes to get you through the day.

There were loads of scare-stories in the lead up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa yet that ended up passing okay.

Forever the optimist eh, BL..........well for the sake of your athletes, I do hope you are right.........but I have my druthers.

The Olympic Games should be permanently held in Greece, in ancient Olympia. This bouncing around of the Olympics is not efficient. Countries go broke building the supporting infrastructure, it's prone to more corruption. And truthfully, it's where it belongs, they were held there for thousands of years.

Yeah? You couldn't even beat Iceland.

What? In the Olympics?

They should be held permanently in London, the city which has hosted them more times than any other. The 2012 Olympics were the best ever.

No, I wish it was.

But this is the Summer Olympics we're talking about.
Yes, and I was refuting your assertion that if you had the same population as the U.S. you'd have more medals by showing, factually, that on at least one occasion, you couldn't even beat a country of 325,000 in sport.

Sorry, I should have connected the dots for you. You're not able to. I'll try to remember that.

Yeah, but that was a fluke. A one-off match. The Olympics is many different sports and it's much harder to fluke your way to winning more medals over a much larger nation than it is to fluke your way to beating a much-larger nation in a football match.

Kinda makes a body wonder how the U.S. (population 310,000,000 at the time) managed to out-medal China (population 1,300,000,000) in 2012, don't it?

Actually, I'm just funnin'. The reason is the two are unrelated. It's just another of your excuses for the fact that Briddin sucks.

Yep. The US and Britain got more medals than China per capita and the UK got more than the US per capita.

Grenada topped the medals per capita table so, per head of population, was the best-performing country at London 2012.

No, the U.S. got more medals than China. Full stop.

But you keep on going on your excuses for why you can't win. The rest of us know that all you got is failure and excuses.
