they love to hear me talk, not for my intellect
lol.... too funny! The door has been left wide, wide open here....
Canadians don't have an accent.. it's the rest of the English speaking world that speaks these strange dialects.
In Britain you only have to go 15 miles down the road until you hear the locals speaking some strange, almost unintelligible dialect. We don't have to go abroad to experience that.
Go chop down a maple tree with a hockey stick, you drunk-a*s Canuck! Are you ever teased about your Canadian accent?
Oh yes! They find it to be quite adoreable when I yell "Fukc you, Yank" in my quaint Canadian dialect. They often wonder what I'm on, aboot.
.. i notice that when i watch the interviews of the Premier League... i try to guess where the players are from.. i've got a pretty good sense of Liverpudlians and West End Londoners.. everything else.. Tower of Babel.
I have never once teased a Canadian about his/her accent.
I prefer to tease them about being brain-damaged, hockey-obsessed, beer-sodden lumberjacks.
Some of us don't give a **** about hockey.
