I was just listening to an interview withe a US Senator on the PBS news and he was asked why he voted against a law preventing peope on no-fly lists from being able to purchase explosives and firearms. Wel!, he thought that some of the people on no-fly lists might be there accidentally and you wouldn't want to take away a God given right to purchase guns and explosives, now would you? The Founding Fathers ... blah-blah ... blah-blah ... blah-blah ... blah-blah ...

But the mentality anti-gun people adopt is adopted by others arguing different positions. Making an extreme position and saying guns are the problem or guns are the solution won't solve this. Nor will blaming one ideology. Mass shooters come in all kinds of ideologies.

There's probably a dozen different reasons, which I couldn't begin to name but one that crops up occasionally Is the holier than thou who honestly believes he's cleaning up the world by getting rid of the "filth". Ridgeway from Seattle, years ago honestly thought he was making the world a better place by getting rid of "*****s". Hitler had the same mentality. It never seems to occur to these people just to mind their own business. Then there's the ones who are trying to get even because they've picked on or slighted and they'll "show" people!
