He came in well after my musical sensibilities were formed in the late 60s and early 70s.. but he was undoubtedly a skilled tunesmith.. and produced some of the great cultural anthems of the 80s and 90s. RiP.

Gopherland is in very serious mourning for him.
I honestly have not seen this many adults openly crying since the day JFK was assassinated.
Prince donated truck loads of money into many charitable causes here in the Twin Cities - he loved this place, rooted for every sports team, and what the Lynx womens pro basketball team won he showed real class by giving the players a full free concert. The players said they never saw anything like that in their lives.

You cannot believe how much he was beloved here in his home town. But it was a love that was mutual.
