They just spout the latest talking points, which is why they are conbots.

The Liberal who is probably most associated with environmentalism has been dumped from the Commons environment committee.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has removed Global Affairs Minister Stéphane Dion from the environment, climate change and energy committee which he chaired.

Although he will continue to serve on some cabinet committees studying other issues, Dion's removal from the environment committee was notable. He is a renowned environmentalist and advocate for climate action, and was among the team of delegates who attended the Paris climate summit in 2015, during which Canada endorsed a 1.5 degree limit to global warming. As Liberal party leader in the 2008 federal election, he campaigned for a "green shift" carbon tax as part of a strategy to combat climate change. Dion was defeated by Stephen Harper who formed a minority government.

Maybe Uncle Steffie was seen as a potential problem to the government's bitumen-pimping policies

Justin Trudeau knows where the pot of gold is hidden ... something that his father failed to find out.

His dad created the oilsands but tried to make it a Crown.

Good thing it's not a Crown. It would be carbon tax exempt.

Environmentalists, Metro Vancouver mayors, First Nations, New Democrat MPs and other oil pipeline opponents are going to get a Kinder Morgan surprise for Christmas — when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau approves the Trans Mountain pipeline project this December.

Many will be shocked and appalled. But a more dispassionate look at the proposal to twin the existing pipeline — tripling its capacity to 890,000 barrels of oil a day shipped to Burnaby and out of the port of Vancouver — shows it will definitely proceed.

The reasons are many — the rationale clear. The only question is how well the federal Liberal government is able to communicate its decision and weather the storm of protest that is sure to follow.

Trudeau has long been supportive of Kinder Morgan.

But now, with Alberta reeling from the dramatic drop in oil prices — and the damaging impact that’s had on Canada’s economy — the Liberals are under more pressure to get that province’s oil sands bitumen to tidewater for sales to Asia.

And as the Liberals contemplate a $29.4-billion budget deficit this year and $118.6 billion over six years, any project that invests $6.8 billion, creates thousands of jobs, and helps get an important natural resource to markets at a better price can’t be rejected.

That message is loud and clear from Trudeau and his ministers.

“The choice between pipelines and wind turbines is a false one. We need both to reach our goal,” Trudeau said in Vancouver in March.

Environmentalists drinking champagne since Trudeau defeated the hated Stephen Harper Conservatives will get indigestion.

But given all the evidence, the Kinder Morgan decision really shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

50 years of original line and no issues. Environmental concern is minimal.

50 years ago they cheered it on, 50 years ago they addressed safety. What has changed in those 50 years?

Just think. There will be no more Newfoundland oil threatening What? 30,000 40,000km of coastline and not to mention tropical rainforest that could be polluted for a length of time on its journey to Burnaby.

Last summer drivers cheered when Newfoundland oil hit port and gas went from $1.45 a liter to $1.33.

Hypocritical? Who am I to say?

Wow! As if any government can just put a random, arbitrary limit on the atmospheric changes and have mother nature adhere to it. I didn't realize they had that kind of magical power. The delusions of these idiots has reached legendary status.

ING Bank Says It Will Not Finance Four Major Pipelines

In March, the Dutch bank pulled $120 million from the Dakota Access Pipeline due to concerns about 'violence used against the protesters.

Acting in response to a letter of concern sent by an assemblage of 20 environmental groups, ING Bank said it will not invest in four major Canadian pipeline projects, including Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain Expansion, Keystone XL, Energy East, and Line 3 Expansion pipelines.

“The letter highlighted the proposed pipeline’s detrimental impact on the climate and its violations of Indigenous rights,” Greenpeace said in a press release.

“Processing oil sands is known to be energy intensive, producing significant greenhouse gas emissions,” ING said in a statement posted on its website. “This is in addition to potential social impacts, such as on the local native tribes historically using the land.”

$120 million is chump change in terms of financing a p/l, besides, there will be all kinds fo pension funds, hedge funds and governments that will happily fill in that void a hundred times over
