Red Green took care of wilderness living, what's left to do?

Network gyms so the bikers can race reach other on the same (realistic) 3D track of Canada's coast to coast trail system or for the really stupid Glacial Parkway. Take user data and feed it into a contest where winners would get something as a prize, take in $1000 spend $100 to do it.

Hire Rick Mercer and give him free reign once Trump is the US prez.

I am glad the Canadian federal government is investing $280,000 into the CBC the only one that will give Canadians a steady stream of Canadian content.

I think I would say...."the CBC is the only one that will give you a steady stream of their version of Canadian Content"

My corrected statement is more accurate and I can think of a dozen ways this money would be better spent.

Trailer Park Boys, Corner Gas didn't come from the CBC.
So basically what you are saying is we have 'relatives' out there someplace. Perhaps we should start screening people with those programs and when they 'agree' without any coaxing then they are immigrant material. Don't forget the Beverly Hillbillies, today it would mean 'You will never see this part of the world' but thanks for paying for it anyway.

Actually, what I'm saying is that we don't need nor no longer rely on the CBC for Canadian stories to be made. They hardly make any original productions anymore, anyway ... satirical stuff and Murdoch.

We wouldn't miss them much, anymore.

How big of a splash can a 'hanger on nation' have on the world stage? Since we are not part of the Security Council we should be the ones that stand with the other 100 nations that basically have no say. Think how different the place would be if the Security Council didn't have a veto power but were expected to carry out the combat missions using their own people using the minimal amount of 'tools' .
For one (immediate) thing they would be the ones coming up with the most ideas for solutions that didn't require military force be used.

The Daily Show was the equal in the US and it ran for a long time. When you play to a small audience (Canada vs US) you don't do it for ratings, you do it for content that only a small group can really appreciate for it's 'honesty'. Either that or filter the lights on the canned broadcasts that show sarcasm as one color, green as crooked money, etc to help the viewer decipher the program. With smart tv you could put in your own vote for what color the light should be.
I doubt the US will let us run programs that show how inept or crooked they are and still have friendly relations. If we had 'Little Mosque on the Prairie' as cultural entertainment I'm sure there could be an American in Canada that didn't look like Green Acres as far as who was the fool. Time to turn the other cheek and consider that when 97% vote on an issue it will have the best outcome possible as being already right in the top 5 choices.

Are they arranging news to suit their own agendae?

Is this a rhetorical question?

I shudder to think what the quality of Canadian news would be if the CBC disappeared. I've seen the quality of media in the USA and it is frightening as well as downright depressing. If nothing else the CBC stops CTV News from turning into CNN North.

I know, we need more Justin Trudeau kiss up from the CBC to avoid being depressed about the state of the economy.

Nothing in your post refutes my position and that is that no government involvement means no Canadian film and TV industry.

Where have I heard this before? Oh yeah, you said something like this after getting your *** kicked in our last skirmish.
