Average Alberta dental rates jump 56% over 10-year period

If the cost of accessing dental care is causing pain comparable to a root canal, you likely live in Alberta, a new study by an insurance association reveals.

Joan Weir of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association says a 10-year assessment of dental rate increases completed last fall shows that Alberta is the most expensive place to keep your teeth healthy.

"We have seen a 56 per cent increase overall," Weir said.

"That is on the median fee, there will be some higher and some lower."

That's an average increase of 5.6 per cent annually, more than twice the increase seen in B.C. (2.6 per cent) and Ontario (2.4 per cent).

Those increases are fully paid for by patients.

They might be high in Alberta, in fact, they are incredibly high, but I suspect dental work is high everywhere. That's why dentists are "up there" in incomes - so if you have a daughter, encourage her to marry or become a dentist fer sure LOL!!

Not sure how acurate this article is. I personally know of BCers that go to Pincher Creek, AB to get their dental work done.

I hope he does. Teeth are important if you want to eat. I bought some uppers a couple of years ago. It's a ripoff, I need a radar thinmgy and a CNC machine, and three operators/tech/physician and a building, I need a million, are you innerested?

Not radar, x-ray, oh look I killed our first patient, ring the front desk won't you
