Rahm emanuel has lost his grip on chicago and won’t be reclaiming it

The Mayor They Deserve

Indeed -- "Why would being cheated by a Democrat politician anger Chicago voters at this late date?"
It was kept from public view for months and months, kept hidden until Mayor Rahm Emanuel won re-election with black voter support. But it couldn't be suppressed forever.

Since the video was released, protesters have taken to the streets, demanding "Rahm Resign" and the mayor became publicly weepy, telling us once again that he wanted to be a Rahm reborn, a better version of himself.
I've been trying to locate a certain organizational chart that was published a few years back, that illustrated the network of relationships between Chicago civic government and Chicago crime families. But it seems to have been disappeared.

Secrets And Lies Of The Chicago Police

In early November, 2014, Craig Futterman, a law professor at the University of Chicago, got a call from someone who worked in law enforcement in that city. The caller told Futterman about a squad-car dashboard-camera video from a few weeks earlier, which showed a police officer shooting to death a seventeen-year-old boy named Laquan McDonald. According to the source, the video was at striking odds with the version of the incident that the Chicago Police Department had presented. In that account, the officer, Jason Van Dyke, acted in self-defense: McDonald was out of control and menacing him with a knife, so he shot him once, in the chest. But the source, describing the video frame by frame, evoked what sounded to Futterman like “an execution.”

Fifteen years ago, Futterman founded a legal clinic at the university focussed on civil rights and police accountability. He and his frequent collaborator, Jamie Kalven, who runs a nonprofit journalism project called the Invisible Institute, interviewed witnesses, and they corroborated what the caller had said. Last December, Futterman and Kalven called on the C.P.D. to release the video. Soon afterward, Kalven, through a Freedom of Information Act request, obtained the autopsy report. It showed that McDonald, a ward of the state who had “Good Son” tattooed on one hand, had been shot sixteen times.

Chicago going all Baltimorey

10 days into new year, more than 100 people shot in Chicago

Seven people were shot to death and 30 more were wounded across Chicago over the weekend, raising the number of shootings in the city to more than 100 in just over a week into the new year, according to police.

The fatal shootings included two teens killed by a store clerk during a robbery in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, and one of three people shot at a party four blocks from Mayor Rahm Emanuel's home.

As of Monday morning, at least 19 people have been killed in gun violence in Chicago this year and at least 101 more have been wounded, according to data compiled by the Tribune. This time last year, nine people had been killed and another 31 wounded, according to statistics kept by the Chicago Tribune.

Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi released a statement blaming most of the violence on "chronic gang conflicts."

Re: Chicago going all Baltimorey

Simply carrying on a great American tradition. Large US cities seem to take it in turn so far as having the highest murder rate. It used to be Detroit, then it was Atlanta, then Washington, and now Baltimore. I suspect it may also have to do with how statistics are collected as the highest rated (or lowest depending on how you view murder) in 2015 was not Baltimore, but still Detroit..

January 2016 Breaks Murder Record for Gun-Controlled Chicago

January 2016 Breaks Murder Record for Gun-Controlled Chicago

There were 51 murders in heavily gun-controlled Chicago in January 2016, thereby surpassing the previous record of 45 in January 2000.

Moreover, according to USA Today, 51 murders is a sharp increase over the 29 murders that Chicago recorded in January 2015 and the 20 murders recorded the January before that.

If we look at all shootings—rather than isolating the fatal ones—the failure of gun control is even more evident, because there was a total of “241 shooting incidents” during January 2016. That is up more than 100 percent over January 2015, when there were a total of “119 [shooting] incidents.”

On January 1, the Chicago Tribune reported a total of 2,986 shooting victims in Chicago for all of 2015. The total number of murders is 468.

All of this is happening in a city with an “assault weapons” ban, a “violence tax” that raises the price of every gun and bullet sold at retail, that limits the number of gun stores and the locations of those stores, and, what the New York Times describes as, handgun restrictions that let city leaders “get as close as they could get legally to a ban without a ban.”

Toronto is a smidgeon larger than Chicago. They are similar in size. So far, in January, there has been a huge spike in homicides in Toronto with 10 murders. There were 56 in all of 2015 in Toronto.
Only a couple of those 10 were shootings, though. Just think, we could get it down to zero if firearms were completely unregulated and everyone could sling a six shooter from their belt. We're so backwards up here when it comes to crime prevention.

Yeah right. Then Toronto could be just like Chicago and have ten times the number of murders it now has. In reality no city in the US has real gun control, not when any US citizen can just hop in his car and drive to a state whose gun laws are much weaker. A citizen of Chicago (which by Canadian standards has weak gun laws) only has to drive to Indiana - a one hour drive, to obtain firearms he can't get in Chicago.

So what's the difference for Canadians, who can just hope in the car and go to a gun show in the USA?

How many cars actually are checked at the border?? They can't check them all and your odds of being stopped are pretty slim if you are clean cut and have a decent vehicle.

Stupid comment. You are implying that ordinary Canadians would deliberately break the law to obtain illegal firearms from the USA. There is absolutely no evidence that this happens. There is evidence though, that criminals in Canada obtain firearms smuggled across the border by other criminals; firearms obtained due to weak US laws regarding firearm purchases. It's called the "Iron Pipeline." Try looking it up.

Most of us don't do that, just the unhinged, deluded and kids in gangs who are, by the way, the targets of almost every shooting in Toronto. "As Seen on T.V."

Soros Funded MoveOn.org Takes Credit for Violence in Chicago

shocking

Ilya Sheyman, a failed Illinois contender for Congress and the executive director of MoveOn.org Political Action, has taken credit for the violence at a cancelled Trump event last night in Chicago. He promised similar violence and disruption will occur at future Trump political events leading up to the election.

“Mr. Trump and the Republican leaders who support him and his hate-filled rhetoric should be on notice after tonight’s events,” the George Soros funded MoveOn web page states. “To all of those who took to the streets of Chicago, we say thank you for standing up and saying enough is enough. To Donald Trump, and the GOP, we say, welcome to the general election.”

MoveOn has consistently functioned as a lobby group for the policies of the Obama administration, including the disaster of Obamacare and the continuation of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the escalation of the war on terror that has turned America into a police and surveillance state. In 2007 it backed a bill trotted out by then Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to continue financing the occupation of Iraq.

Re: Soros Funded MoveOn.org Takes Credit for Violence in Chicago

Soros is an extremely dangerous man and has his fingers in a lot of political pies world-wide. He's interfered with the economies of many countries. He simply is not a nice man. He portrays himself as a billionaire philanthropist but that's simply a front he uses while he manipulates in the background. If you think Donald Trump is bad - Soros is even worse by a long shot. At least Trump is forthcoming; Soros is not - he's sneaky which makes him even more dangerous.

This could be really interesting and potentially dangerous.

I wonder who arrived on those 54 jets to some private island specifically to discuss 'the Trump problem'. Be 'interesting to see who was on the list, but then we would have to be killed. They can move pretty quickly when they want to or it was already planned out and was just waiting for permission to start the program.

100 years ago when Jeckle Island met the Fed came into being. If a name ever fit a place it would be that name and that crowd, the blight in the shadows.
