While funny, it is hardly unbiased journalism.
Yes it's meant for the entertainment. It's not supposed to be journalism. The Daily News along with the likes of Canada's SUN media thrive on shock and truthiness.
But not to be outdone on the crazy train Cruz has a secret weapon.....
Reeling from Palin's Donald Trump endorsement, Ted Cruz digs up ... Glenn Beck
Glenn Beck, let's all remember, was the host booted off Fox News for being too insane. This is the network that willingly broadcasts
Fox & Friends, which should give at least some indication of how insane you can be and still work there, but Glenn Beck managed to make the network uncomfortable with increasingly untranslatable chalk-and-tears tirades against pretty much anything you can name, and quite a few things nobody could. He popularized fake historians touting fake histories written to be more appealing to Fox News viewers, an accomplishment that probably helped inspire Bill O'Reilly to start his own sub-career of authoring fake histories written to be more appealing to Fox News viewers. Since leaving the network, Beck has gone on to build his own mock Oval Office for giving speeches in, and to design an as-of-yet-unbuilt theme park and/or city dedicated the principles of being Glenn Beck. Or Ayn Rand. Or somebody.
So this is the fellow that Sen. Ted Cruz is bringing along to help convince Iowa voters that he, Ted Cruz, is presidential material. Glenn “Too-Crazy-For-Fox-News” Beck.
And Ted is battling with Donald Trump for the Republican nomination for the presidency, as of yet easily wiping the floor with all the candidates that the Republican Party itself would like to see its voters vote for. Donald Trump launched a ballistic Sarah Palin at his foes; Ted Cruz counters with a Glenn Beck to the kneecaps. Marco Rubio's only remaining chance may be to dig up Ronald Reagan's skull, put a red rubber clown nose on it, and turn his campaign rallies into an extended ventriloquism act.
