That is how Harper got in in the first place. People were tired of the Liberals and put him in just because he was the only alternative. The same thing happened in 93, except it was the Liberals replacing the PCs. Canada has a long history of kicking governments out rather than putting them in because they want them.

We periodically fire our governments. It is the essence of our democracy that we have the power and ability to throw the bums out what they have run their course. Places in the World where the average citizen does not have that power invariably become totaliterian nightmares.

Indeed, but when firing a government the people should be seriously thinking about who they are going to then hire to be the new government. They dont seem to do that.

Maybe you should check the 1993 figures! Chretien got in by a huge margin, N.D.P. and Cons were barely visible.

Yeah but he probably got 60% of the seats. The Bloc and Reform grabbed a few. % of the votes can be very deceiving. Without checking I would guess the Conservatives with their 2 seats probably got 20% of the vote.

Sorry Jeri, not sexually attacked to Justin. More like wishing some nut job plants him 6 feet under. Wouldn't did it myself or even consider it, but I'm sure there is a wacko out there that will, before the 4 years are up.

Trudeau has stirred up a lot of hate, mostly because of his name, the son of a man many see as a destroyer of Canadian values, and why Québéc is the way it is today.

Justin's victory is not really a valid reason to cry "Viva la revolucion" unless he plans on going full dictator, which in all seriousness is rather unlikely.
