Wrong. From looking into the past, it occurs to me (and I would bet, quite a few others) that "help" has been more hindrance than anything. yes, I see the first nations gradually advancing themselves, they own many commercial businesses now,
and yes, I agree the 'so called' help way back when wasn't help at all, it was a forced way of life
they were pushed into, thrown crumbs once a month, made to live where they were told to live, then
shunned and criticized for years and years, I see that slowly disappearing.

I have argued with many people throughout my life 'who' had the attitude that the first nations were
living on hand outs, spoiled and lazy, boy, I would have liked all those I argued with put in their
shoes many years ago and made to live on reservations and shoved aside and any self esteem they
might have had was squeezed right out of them, takes a long time, generations and generations to
make that turn around, but I do see it now.

It's more than evident they open the door and literally trow out trash. The wind blows it all over the yard and they leave it sit - forever. Good fertilizer for their grass at some point I guess. Good lot of them believe they are 100% entitled to everything. Those that do not live on the reserve are completely different. They lead a useful and productive life. Reserves should be abolished.

I tend to agree however I have no interest in forcing the bands to do anything. I'm for giving them a choice. Whether they choose to become their own nation (and not the quasi-nations they currently are) or abandon their nation and become full participants in the Canadian nation, the reservation system can't help but disappear.

Other problems arise from the differences in the cognitive behaviors of natives and pales. There are even genetic and epigenetic differences in the way different peoples think. There are more than just physical differences between us.

In SOME cases what you say is true. Not in ALL cases.
Not all reserve land is prime. Not all reserves have trash being blown around. etc.

That's a cultural thing and has more to do with religion. Look at the difference between Catholic areas of Europe and Protestant areas.

Yes. Some of it is cultural, like the religion thing. Some is not. EG: plains natives and natives from mountainous regions thought differently. That is a geological effect. Another one is the difference between the desert people of Africa and the desert people of the southwestern US.
I would think there is just as much difference between ways of thinking between people as there is between women and men.
