Northern Ontario,
Couldn't possibly be because 60% of those awaiting help are women and children, in other words young families. Or that Canada needs immigrants to pay for those expected to retired over the next couple of decades. We may be a young country but our young country is rapidly approaching the point where there are more of us drawing pensions than working and paying taxes. Anyone over fifty should be on the welcoming committee unless they WANT to work well into their 70's.

Oh, I do believe many of the refugees are hungry, cold and exhausted. The countries that opened their doors are inundated and cannot handle anymore. Unless some of the better off countries step forward and take in their fair share, there will be a disaster that will end up handled with massive grave sites. Not a honorable solution, because of fear and selfishness. Unless you are of our inuit or native population, where they are now, your people were back then. No one leaves their home country willingly, if the living is good.
Picking numbers out of thin air again or rather out of your south end and no link to prove your wild fantasies....

Here
Of the European host countries, Greece takes on most of the arrivals, with 244,855 so far this year, followed by Italy, receiving 115,000. In total, 75 percent of the refugees are reported to be men, 12 percent women and 13 percent children.

Why can't governments rather than taking refugees in, create a homeland like they did for Israel?

This guy suggests buying and Island and building a city, hospitals, schools. There is plenty of unoccupied lands that can be turned into a new country and built into a new home.

Who said anything about "facts"? I said your city "seems" welcoming.

Several Canadians may be sleeping on the streets. I am guessing refugees will be put up in nice cozy places.

Keep dreaming.
If they're going to Kelowna they'll be put to work by the Hells Angels.

What really puzzles me is this country finds it impossible to deal with the "easy fixes", so what the hell are they going to do with 25 thousand Syrians, Jordainians and Lybians?

It's mind boggling that some actually think so.

25,000 by the end of the year. I am wondering if that is just the start.

I heard the Immigration minister say 25,000 is the lower limit, so we may be actually getting more.

How very socialist of you.

Thank you

The only problem with that is that it's ridiculous.
