No difference at all. The record for honesty among those who add "so help me god" to their promises is not noticeably different from that of those who don't. But it gives Boomster and the Butthurt Brigade something to squeal about.

On that note. You should have seen the "feminists" go off at another site I haunt, when I asked.

huh? It seems to me that concerning the last couple gov'ts, Martin had the more well-knit gov't than Harper. Harper seemed to have to beat on his members in order to keep them in line way more than Martin did. Or Chretien either, for that matter.
I always hear "so help me god" in the same vein as "you bet your bippy" - nothing religious, just a vow
I rather prefer, "bank on it" but "you can bet on it" is ok.

Most of Canada's people are between 40 and 43, Catholic, and a full 1/4 are overweight so most of the cabinet should be that, right?
