Yup, many of the staunch Conservative supporters I know could not stand him. Had the party dumped him 2 years ago, they would still be in power.
Do you think Justin will be tough on criminals? We know he's not going to balance the budget, but it probably will be the free-est country in the world as imports come in by the boat load and good percentage of which are terrorists. It's definitely not looking good for the future.
It's funny that when the Conservatives were successful that success was attributed to Harper's discipline and secrecy. The Conservatives used Harper as their selling point. Harper was the dour but professional kind of guy we needed as Prime Minister. He was the steady hand on the tiller.
Now that they've lost people are blaming Harper and the party's discipline and secretness. Suddenly what made the Tories successful is being blamed from bringing them down. Maybe it was none of those things that led to their success and failure.
A lot of people don't learn from their mistakes. Even when they recognize their mistakes, they fall back into them.
They already know why they lost
that's why so many MPs took the easy way out and resign before the election.

When I saw Harpo talking about how pot was more dangerous and addictive than heroine, I knew he lost it. People are not that stupid, at least not the majority. If he could stand there and make such bold face lies about that, then he lost all credibility.

On the suface it was 9 years of Harpers rule. I don't expect any change in the rulers of Canadian politics nor policy. We will see how the abaseing genuflection before Israel proceeds. I don't expect any curtailment of those treasonous specticles either. I would be surprised if change was forthcoming just because one of the three Canadian partys sympathetic with Israeli policies of genocide was replaced.

The media played a big part. They were all mad at Harper for not giving them enough access to what was going on and never kissed a chance to criticize him for it. Now that he's gone, two in particular are spewing out their hatred for Harper's lack of communication (Bob Fyfe and Craig Oliver).
In another election or two don't be surprised if the Conservatives are back with another majority!
