National Post: Ralph Klein to blame for Alberta deficits

Finance Minister Robin Campbell and Premier Jim Prentice revealed Wednesday the Progressive Conservative government will implement a nine-per-cent budget cut across the board in next months’ budget as the province grapples with the impact of low oil prices and a slowing economy.

For many, the news was reminiscent of the mid-1990s when then-premier Ralph Klein — faced with a crippling, $20-billion debt — gutted parts of the provincial civic service, eliminating thousands of jobs. Grants to schools, hospitals, universities and municipalities were frozen. Many provincial employees lucky enough to keep working accepted a five-per-cent pay cut.

Big budget cuts trigger outrage among unions and public interest groups | Calgary Herald

Again, Alberta program spending exceeds the rest of the country. You haven't explained what I've lost. Additionally, if you believe that Alberta's public service was gutted by spending more than anybody else, you really need to explain your logic. I don't really care what the Calgary Herald thinks. I'm interested in your opinion.

Why keep egging something on when it obviously thinks being annoying and loathesome to be positive attributes?

I am sure you think so. As you say, though, knock yourself out.

There is a shocker.

Anyways, poor AB. I am sure after ABers have regained their senses and looked at what they voted in and subsequently have voted them out, the Dippers will find all sorts of excuses for the disaster they caused and might even find something or someone else to blame for their poor performance at governing.

I did, you just didn't want to acknowledge the answer.

If you really cared about having a real conversation you would at least be critical of the details that were posted instead of just repeating yourself.

I understand you just want to keep bumping the thread, and that is much appreciated.

No, you didn't. You posted some inaccurate left wing drivel. As I stated, Alberta program spending leads the nation. If progressives think that I as an Albertan am losing anything, they (you) need to do more than spout silly propaganda. If there are problems in health care and education in Alberta, funding isn't the cause, otherwise the problems would be noticably worse in other jurisdictions spending less

Admit Flossy, you simply can't answer the question and no amount of obfuscation and redirection will change that
