We won't save refugees by destroying our own country

I can believe it. Maybe when it progresses from community centres and gyms to hospitals and prisons, someone will start getting the message! I think Ms. Merkel needs to have her head looked at! Are you listening Justin?

I see Fat head is active again this morning! :) :)

The thing is that with the halt to the temporary foreign workers program (that was not so much about the "temporary" as about companies unwilling to pay more and foreign workers willing to make minimum wage) this might help those employers who are unwilling to pay their employees more.

For most North Americans an expectation of living with only immediate family in a large accommodation as possible is the norm. For the indo-canadian population they live with extended family as well as mortgage helpers units, they're able to afford on low wages what many others are unable.

Many of these refugees are use to living with their extended and would be willing to do the jobs Canadians don't want. If we can educate them on what is acceptable behavour here and let them know that any deviation will result in their being deported (and have that as a reality, not an empty threat) then this influx of refugees might work out.
With all due respect, nonsense. We import 300,000+ immigrants every year now. It's not just a case of the jobs not being what Canadians are or aren't willing to do for work, it's also the fact that for at least a decade, central Canada was screaming for workers to fill jobs, decent paying jobs. But when roughly 95% of newcomers decide to settle in one of two cities, it doesn't help the situation in central Canada at all.
Except for the Filipinos. A lot of them settled in Winnipeg, one of the cities that was in desperate need of workers. I have to admire someone who moves from the tropics and settles in Canada's coldest city because THAT is where the jobs were.

When it comes to refugees, in any given year we already take in 10% of the world's refugees who have been processed and are ready for resettlement. Some years it's been as many as 1 in 6. We already do more than our share of heavy lifting when it comes to refugees.

I hear from several sources Germany is already in crisis from this recent influx of Muslims!

That's because Merkel shot off her mouth before thinking it all the way through, in typical left-tard fashion.
When you promise to take in 800,000 people when you only have public housing available for several hundred, that makes you a moron.
This is what happens when you allow emotion and ideology to take precedence over logic and reasoning.

I will vote for the Party(s) that represent the policies I support

Contrary to the majority, I guess. Tough on crime, tough on terrorists, resistance to refugees sounded good to me! :)

You don't need to tell me. :) :) (Seems democracy is defined as allowing idiots to vote) :)

I was under the impression the foreign worker program had been halted?

It was, or has been greatly restricted. My point was that even while the TFW program was in full swing, we were still accepting 300,000+ immigrants every year. That number does not include illegals permitted to remain or refugees.

Clearly you do that in more than the one post.

I think nearly all of us here that do on occasion. And some simply wait to pounce on each other for it.

As the saying goes "most people listen (read) to respond, rather then listen (read) to understand.

but since no points are awarded for catching someone not being perfectly clear nor are their points for the person who purposely misunderstands it seems really a futile exercise.

Think of it as an improvement over making stick dolls and poking pins in them while chanting some dark sentences.

I'd rather they try to discuss and practice listening to understand or go back to sticking dolls with pins if they are unable to do that, honestly.
