No food prices are way too high in Canada and supply management that rewards bad farmers is mostly to blame. Supply management also prohibits new entrants into the field since instead of making a name for themselves by having a superior product they have to buy a quota from one of the chosen,
Funniest part of the OP is the false flag of hormones in imported milk. Canadian dairy cows also get hormones.
Having paved around a few dairies that cost about $10m to build if they wanted to maximize production they would and nothing would be said as it would come in the prepackaged 'meds' that are fed to each cow individually because of the chip in their ear tag. That part is actually pretty efficient as far as treating a whole herd of critters, what they are given might be not so noble for said beasts or consumers of said beasts product, be it milk or meat.
True. The quality would never dine on anything as proletarian as chicken.
