Why do I keep thinking of the term Shiny Pony as a viable Elton John song title?

What draws together the strings of this concept and ties it into a knot in my mind?

Northern Ontario,
We have a history of Prime ministers selling out to the US.....In my voting lifetime starting out with Diefenbaker, that convinced be to vote Liberal for two elections, but then all the other P M's continued the trend until Harper who included Mexico and China following the Chretien and Martin Liberal trend for that...
Now we have the Shiny Pony selling out to the Middle east, before even starting his term!

Where will it end?

The most corrupt gov't in Canada is also a role model for our new PM and voters don't seem to care. At all.

Sun media still reporting Harper majority

Despite the results being posted two days ago, Sun newspaper outlets have steadfastly denied the existence of a Liberal majority government and have continued to assume Conservative leader Stephen Harper will carry on his mandate as Prime Minister.

"We're happy to report the Conservatives have won every seat in Parliament," said a hysterical Toronto Sun editor-in-chief Adrienne Batra. "He will be our Prime Minister for the next 100 years. Harper is Lord! Harper is Lord!"

The newspaper, known for reporting its alternative version of events, said that Harper swept all opposition parties in every riding after the Conservatives ran a campaign of truth, transparency, and patriotism.

Psychologists explain this phenomena as the two stages of grief newspapers experience when their preferred candidate or political party loses an election.

"The first stage is denial of the events that occurred," explained Dr. Ravi Chodri, head of UofT's psychology department. "Followed by anger, anger and more anger. And that's it."

According to sources, the Globe and Mail has made progress in accepting the Trudeau Liberals victory, but has not accepted it as the next government.

Justin Trudeau agreed to an interview with Global TV's Jas Johal yesterday, which you can watch here.
Here is the reaction of well known B.C. political pundit, Alex G. Tsakumis, republished with permission:
If this is the idiotic, rhetorical ineffectiveness that the Liberal Party of Canada and their team of fools, think is going to get an unaccomplished, airhead across the goal line before Stephen Harper, then I misjudged the Grits integrity -- they have none. It's grotesquely offensive to me as a Canadian that the Liberal Party of Canada has clearly learned nothing from the progressively more punishing rebuke they earned, thrice, at the polls. Win, by all means. But the offering of Justin Trudeau as anything even approaching a legitimate, credible candidate, is so utterly and completely insulting to the intelligence of the Canadian public. Being in public life shouldn't be on-the-job training. His interview with Jas Johal tonight, only confirms that Trudeau has not only inherited his mother's looks, but her brains, too. Very disappointing, and a contemptible disregard for real issues. Just fluff. And beyond belief that anyone in the media could possibly take him in any way seriously. Beyond belief.

Hahahahahah!!!! Didn't that blow up in your face. I nearly peed my pants reading that this morning.

Pierre Trudeau was a disaster for Canada, even while he was being feted by the sycophantic press.
Pierre Trudeau is a hero of the liberal media culture which conveniently insists that morality is a strictly personal matter to be determined by each individual and about which the state and even the church should have little authority.
This was sheer sophistry.

Making out he was genuinely liberal – it’s like saying that we are libertarian, therefore anything from paedophilia to murder is quite OK and the govt will step back and turn a blind eye to it. What he was really doing was attempting to drop community standards and give open slather to sleaze.
And sleazy he was himself, essentially a male whoar – even the leftwing press concedes that much:

heh...can't forget this one.

That Depends on what percentage of old farts voted for the little whipper snapper. I think most geriatrics vote for NDP.

Nah, I think most of us in B.C. were smart enough to see the light when Glen Clark was at the helm.
