But it's clear from the context of his comment that his intent was that we should prohibit all women from doing anything he does not require his daughter to do.
Horse puckey. Mr. Harper has never indicated that by word or deed. He has, very narrowly, said that no-one (women included) should be allowed to cover their heads or faces in citizenship ceremonies or ID photos.

Getting from there to "he believes everything he does not require of his daughter should be prohibited to all Canadians" is an exercise in arm-waving hysterics worthy of Walter.

Yes, he's using one required behavior as a sleazy allusion to convince people on something else which should be a choice.

It's conbot logic.

It doesn't have to make sense.
Speaking of making no sense. This is NOT a choice for women from those cultures you freakin' mental midget. It is what is referred to as a cultural more and is not dissimilar to antiquated Western notions about a woman's place in society. The niqab and the full-on fumigation tents are shackles of oppression forced upon those women by a strongly male-centric "society". They are nothing more than conditions that men have put on them if they wish to go out in public.

Niqab-wearing females are amongst the current fashionable minorities with the Left, along with househusbands, vegans and Afro-Caribbeans.

And, coincidentally (or is it?) these all feature as some of the contestants on the BBC's new series of the very right on Great British Bake Off.

And Corbyn (God love him) has just made the vegan Kerry McCarthy the new
Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in his right on, Far-left Shadow Cabinet. Ms (obviously) McCarthy apparently wants Britain's meat-eater to be treated the same as Britain's smokers. I somehow think that Corbyn's Labour Party aren't going to get many votes from farmers in 2020.

That's not a niqab, it's a hijab. Learn the difference. Lots of little old European ladies where similar "scarves".

And it's not just his comment that shows that.

The Conservative pledge to enact an oppressive law which dictates what someone should wear during a citizenship ceremony is direct evidence of his desire to restrict freedom.

Niqab, hijab, it's all the same to me. These symbols of female oppression are still very trendy with the British Left.

What it most certainly ISN'T is an old ladies' headscarf, which are much different. It's a Muslim thing.

Blackleaf, oppression of women is your thing. Why would you object?

As for the burka and the hijab, the Right in Britain want them banned, whereas the Left want them to stay. They are trendy things amongst the Western Left, despite them being used for female oppression.

Have you ever read your own posts? You hate women.

No, I don't. I just don't think they should have the right to vote or hold any authority (Mrs Thatcher and the Queen excepted).

But I don't want the burka or hijab in Britain.

The burkas and the niqab have no place in 21st Century Britain. Women in 21st Century Britain should not be going around dressed as medieval daleks just because they know they'll be beaten to a pulp by their menfolk for not doing so. The hijab and niqab should be banned in Britain as they are in other European countries like France and Belgium. They won't get banned though because, despite the fact that they are used by Muslim menfolk to oppress their chattel, such things are trendy amongst the latte-sipping, Guardian-reading denizens of North Islington.

Blackleaf, YOU have no place in 21st century Britain. Your attitudes are far more compatible with Saudi Arabi, Ethiopia, or the late Middle Ages.

Find your place, son!

so what if a woman wants to adhere to her chosen faith?
like those CHRISTIAN NUNs that look like penguins once they are all dolled up
you can't tell one from the other
sorry dear! no can do..only mini skirts, and maggie trudeau head scarfs are acceptable in ( to quote HARPER "MY Canada" )
his canada?
he works FOR CANADA theoretically
NOT the other way round

and christian women get beaten to a pulp all over the place
probably better then being burned at the stake like they were during the inquisition
because the whitch's caused climate change

"50,000 witches executed because they caused climate change – Video...
Dr. Sallie Baliunas, Staff Astrophysicist at the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, discusses the Little Ice Age and people’s superstitious reactions to extreme weather."

I was wondering how being anti slaughter of Palestinians who are genetically the descendants of the original biblical Hebrews makes me a HATER?
They are the actual semites!!!
Not the Kkkazars!!! who are killing them and stealing all thier land and who aren't even SEMITES!!!

So im dealing here with those that HATE christians and muslims and even Jews who oppose this.
(they get called self hating Jews if you can believe that )
gee, who hates THOSE jews again???
the ones here calling me a HATER!!!

There is no dealing with this sort of irrational HATE of scrutiny of crimes
How can thier be?

It's like telling a priest to take the little boy off his lap
PERSECUTION!
christian hater!
That is their reply
hate! hate! hate! is all I am going to get for the facts I have posted

but back to this thread about Harper;
"While Harper lived for a few years in Calgary, he joined the congregation of the C&MA’s Rock Pointe Church"
They take the BIBLE, where there is no democracy under 'GOD' LITERALLY

Harper and global warming:
his church preaches:
"Evangelical authorities, including the C&MA, also pinpoint global warming and extreme weather events as an indication that the "end times" are imminent and attempting to mitigate climate change as even against God’s will.

...At an obvious policy level, there is no rational explanation for what is going on. Apparently, “even thick-skinned veterans of the Israeli government find themselves hard pressed to explain why Harper is so supportive.” No other major world leaders, including President Obama and leaders in Europe, share this almost ecstatic connection to what Harper has called the “sacred” state of Israel...

...This intimate intermixing of religion and politics is entirely new in Canada. The shaping of domestic and international policy by the federal government on the basis of a doctrinaire Christian ideology has really never been seen before...

...Political leaders like Tommy Douglas, Pierre Trudeau, Lester Pearson and Robert Stanfield all had strong affiliations with one religious denomination or another...This intimate intermixing of religion and politics is entirely new in Canada. The shaping of domestic and international policy by the federal government on the basis of a doctrinaire Christian ideology has really never been seen before. However, every one of these major political figures established a firewall between their personal beliefs and their political initiatives"
inside quote marks from this link:
Why Stephen Harper behaved strangely in Israel | Vancouver Observer

"Israel's Most Hated Friend
...Thousands of Christian Zionists attend a fundraiser sponsored by Christians United for Israel.According to Abraham Foxman, director of the Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish community is currently facing a “dire threat”-- and no it’s not Mel Gibson after a few cocktails. It’s Christian Zionism, a group of Christians who support the Jewish state...

...The most common argument that I hear against Christian Zionists is that they only support Israel because of the “End of Days” prophecy. The End of Days prophecy is a Christian belief that the Second Coming of Christ can only happen once the Jews are in Israel. According to the prediction, in the days before the Second Coming most Jews will either die or convert to Christianity. Because of this, many Jews believe that Christian support for Israel is just a round-about, extremely complicated way for Christians to finish the job of the Inquisition."
inside quotes from the JEWISH POST:
JewishPost.com - Israel¼s Most Hated Friend

Now that there is actually 6 million "JEWS" in Israel ( read the census last year or two ) and such things as the ATOM bomb and worse
the Talmudist BANKERS can finally have their Holocaust for real
(this will be the fourth or fifth on...but it will be the REAL ONE!)

I stand against that completely VS my detractors here support this

who is the JEW HATER NOW?
