Making his post less than an excellent one, I have to agree. That isn't the first time that has happened. Perfect timing on your part without a doubt. Everybody but the sleepy one gets a chuckle, probably not the first time that has happened either.

Maybe it's my suspicious nature but that "kid" doesn't look to me to be all that naive....
I'd be interested to find out exactly "who" and "how" that story broke out...
I smell a publicity set-up!

Oh please, feel free to ignore the parts where I said the teacher was remiss, that the cops handcuffing and arresting were extreme.

And yes, I think anyone who thinks bringing a mess of wires and circuit boards in a briefcase that beeps, has an alarm of some kind or shows any kind of time display at all, needs to give their head a shake. I can buy the kid being naive because of his age, but no adult anywhere in his life thought maybe that might not be a good idea?

Well, the good news is that this was a learning experience. Ahmed has sworn he will never take another of his inventions to school, and has expressed his determination to get out of there as quickly as may be.

It's the appropriate reaction.

^ Not to mention, the kids' father is a belligerent Muslim activist and perennial Sudanese presidential candidate whose brother runs a trucking company amusingly called Twin Towers Transportation. This was a set up to try and gain Muslim sympathy by painting Texans as Islamophobes.
