Martin Luther, as he taught in his sermon “On the Estate of Marriage”:

It is an outward and spiritual sign of the greatest, holiest, worthiest, and noblest thing that has ever existed or ever will exist: the union of the divine and the human natures in Christ. The holy apostle Paul says that as man and wife united in the estate of matrimony are two in one flesh, so God and man are united in the one person Christ, and so Christ and Christendom are one body. The Two Shall Become One Flesh: Reclaiming Marriage by Evangelicals and Catholics Together | Articles | First Things

A divorce is legal if it is for infidelity, any other reason is not acceptable to God so a 2nd marriage would also not be recognized. The ones that are alive for the 1,000 year period are not given in marriage as no children will be born during that time.

Paul's boss on the matter.

M't:5:31:
It hath been said,
Whosoever shall put away his wife,
let him give her a writing of divorcement:
M't:5:32:
But I say unto you,
That whosoever shall put away his wife,
saving for the cause of fornication,
causeth her to commit adultery:
and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

M't:22:30:
For in the resurrection they neither marry,
nor are given in marriage,
but are as the angels of God in heaven.

 Yeah, spousal abuse is no reason for divorce. Doesn't matter if the wife spends most of her life with broken bones and is black and blue or the hubby has high blood-pressure and heart condition from a haranguing wife.

The teaching that goes deepest will be indirect, and the truth will tell most on them when it is overheard. When you are not watching, and the children are--that is when the lessons are learned for life. Possibly my Coming Religion may suggest a coming revolution? I should not wonder if it does. Anyway, we mean to do our own thinking, and to have absolute freedom of thought and expression. We mean to rescue our Sunday from the sacerdotal ring. But we do not mean that the day of rest and recreation shall fall into the hands of the capitalists. We mean to try and rescue this world from the clutches of those who profess to have the keys and the keeping of the other--they who hold up the other world in front of that beast of burden, the producer, as a decoying lure, like the bunch of carrots before the donkey's nose, in order that the suggestion of plenty in paradise may induce him to forego his common right to grazing-ground on earth. We mean to have a day of reckoning with the unjust stewards of the earth. We mean to have the national property restored to the people, which the churches and other bodies have withheld from the people. We mean that the land, with its inalienable right of living, its mineral wealth below the soil and its waters above, shall be open to all. We mean to have our banking done by the State, and our railways worked for the benefit of the whole people. We mean to temper the terror of rampant individualism with the principles of co-operation. We mean to show that the wages' system is a relic of barbarism and social serfdom. That under it labour must remain a slave in the prison-house of property. We mean for woman to have perfect equality with man, social, religious, and political, and her fair share in that equity which is of no sex. We mean also that the same standard of morality shall apply to the woman as to the man. In short, we intend that the redress of wrongs and the righting of inequalities, which can only be rectified in this world, shall not be put off and postponed to any future stage of existence. The religion of the future has got to include not only Spiritualism, but the salvation of humanity for this life--any other may be left to follow hereafter. It has to be a sincerity of life, in place of pretended belief. A religion of science, in place of superstition. Of joy, instead of sorrow. Of man's Ascent, instead of his Fall. A religion of fact in the present, and not of mere faith for the future. A
286
religion in which the temple reared to God will be in human form, instead of being built of brick or stone. A religion of work, rather than worship; and, in place of the deathly creeds, with all their hungry parasites of prey, a religion of life--life actual, life here, life now, as well as the promise of life everlasting!

"Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, 'The two will become one flesh.' But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Now for the matters you wrote about: 'It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.' But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer." (1 Corinthians 6:15-7:5 NIV)

It is a good reason to leave a marriage. That being said perhaps you should know who you are getting married to in the first place. No-one gets punished for getting married again but it would remove you from being gathered first so some might call that a punishment. All marriages are dissolved for the people that are gathered first.
I'm also pretty sure heredity is the cause of HBP and early HA. Blame it on the wife/husband though. Time to double up on the life insurance and ratchet it up a bit.

Infidelity is one good reason, maybe not the main one. I think if a women is scared sh*tless because the guy beats her, that is probably an even better reason, infidelity is not likely to kill but beatings certainly can. Chronic and habitual addiction would also get my sympathy, through experience I know there can be no meaningful life when that sh*t is in the forefront.

I'm a member of this household. I used to be a member of a shooting club and a football association, but that's it. I'm no member of any dead people.

It would be both people that would need to have their mental closets neat and tidy. I'm quite sure that in any dysfunctional relationship both have a contributing factor in it starting and not getting resolved. Mine thought I was snidely insulting her one day when I said how good she was looking and it was before the 90 minutes in front of her vanity. One of the people I should have either had a short affair with or been long-term friends. Back then I might have been the one to take the blame for her getting upset.

I don't do that anymore and my conduct here isn't any different, some things I'm comfortable with and some I'm not. Insanity is on display here if it can be defined as giving yourself more rights than anybody else and that means the lowest rather than the highest respected. On some topics I can explain it further and on other topics the 'other readers' are the ones who are too sensitive to have the discussion be frank.

Shooting footballs, now that is something I've never tried.
Cutting trees with a 12ga called for bb loads rather than bird shot. You can drop a bird that is flying away easier than one flying towards you.
Now I want to get back to high-school and be under the bleachers with a bb gun and hit the receiver just before the catch. That would be so funny at about the 6th time on the same guy. lol

Paul did touch on a woman being married to a non-believer as not being a reason for divorce because her faith alone covered her whole family.

Does the abused person in the marriage start with an open carry while 'alone together'? (or train for a black-belt)
