I'd love to see the question.

"Would you vote for the Utopian, beloved, LBGT loving, high taxing the filthy rich party that will look after you the rest of your life so you don't ever have to think for yourself again party, or the other azzholes."

A budget is a budget. It is valid at the point of presentation. Things change over time and are rarely exactly as per budget.

Exactly and an extension of that statement would be Politician's promises are only valid until the situation changes and they should be clear about that up front and the electorate should accept that regardless. That's why these f&&king promises 50 days before the election aren't worth the paper they are written on.

Of course, and when the things changed that very same budget became unbalanced. Is that good enough for you? It's like if a hockey team was up 2-0 in the first period and then got scored on 6 times by the end. Would you say that was a successful team? Would you say they won the game and then when someone showed you the score say "well they won after the first"? No you wouldn't. Only when you seriously want to delude yourself. The Conservative government had a balanced budget and it collapsed before the game ended. The budget is not balanced. They failed.

It was presented as balanced. The proper analogy would be the leafs made the playoffs but lost the first series.

But its a moot point anyways since neither the Lieberals or NDP have any plans on balancing said budget so one wonders why this is such a sticky point to you leftards?

It matters because the Conservatives said they would balance the budget, and they didn't, and they're running on the myth that they did. Nonsense like what you're saying, the budget was balanced before it was unbalanced, doesn't change the fact that it's not balanced and that it's not a Conservative achievement. It's a failure. Saying that it is balanced is a lie. Why is the unbalanced budget sticking point? Because it's the truth.

They ain't goin to balance nothing this next decade. They'll have to play up their security position. Didn't I see some of that crap in the paper the other day? The looming wars should make their case. Of course their backing the wrong horse.

Not one of the parties has the balls to do what needs to be done to address our financial debt. There might be a recovery but don't fool yourself, it will really be a bubble.

What needs to be done to address our financial debt? Nationalize the banks? Tell the creditors to go **** themselves? Seize the means of production? Overthrow the bourgeois state?

The means of production is in China, so will it be a causeway to Asia or hundreds of aircraft carrier to ferry the new improved F35s close enough to bomb something? This would create employment in the infrastructure sectors and provide an excuse to eliminate the rockies at the same time.
