I'm still unclear on the arguments against it. Some people think it's ugly? You'll never satisfy everyone when it comes to public art.

I don't exactly object to this memorial but why would we want it in P.E.I? Shouldn't it be more central? I'm 76 years old and I've been to PEI only once, and that was when I was in the military. This thing is going to cost big money.....it should br more centrally located.

I'm not sure what P.E.I. has to do with it!

This is being built through donations.

PEI is likely a better fit because nobody sailed to war from any of those geographically-centered Winnipeg sea ports I guess. Or Baker Lakes' for that matter. And they'd likely just tag and pee on it in Toronto at any rate.

But hey, maybe we can load and move the National War Memorial around each November too.

Anyway, read the site info posted earlier if it grabs ya.

As long as it is not built with tax dollars, who cares. It is not like most of us would have to see it every morning when we wake up.

A lesson in geography is a pre-requisite for anybody visiting the monument.

(fyi: Cape Bretton Island is the northern little island of Nova Scotia.)

All from donations. If you want something central go to the human rights museum in Winnipeg. If you don't walk out of there humbled, you are a sociopath.

Who cares I think it is an eye sore and having been born in Cape Breton
I for one would object to such a monstrosity being built and inflicted on
anyone.
I am a little tired of monument building anyway..

I like it and it's location is just fine. I've heard some are upset it will have a gift shop thus commercializing nat parks.

Grasslands National is probably the only easily accessed park that doesn't have any gift shops, restaurants, hotels or even somewhere go take a sh-t.
