What they forgot to add is that it only lays 1000 bricks an hour IF everything is working right. And experience has shown me that isn't a very high percentage of the time.
1000 bricks/day would be a stellar performance for a human.

That machine running for a day straight without a problem would be amazing. Also the guy that comes to fix it charges out at $150 an hour.
Make that guys and don't forget the flaggers and permits .

The CEO has become the new freeloader sucking the wealth out of the system
Just like sport hero's there should be a salary cap imposed Most CEO's are
not worth the money paid out and that is why we are in trouble economically

Top CEO pay has increased by 54% since 2009

The pay of top CEOs from the 350 largest companies in the US has increased by 54.3 percent from 2009, to an average of $16.3 million per year – six times greater than that of the top 0.1 percent of wage earners, according to new study.

That I can believe! High time to stem the f**king greed. There's 8760 hours in a year. I don't give a sh*t what anyone says, no one works more than 1/2 of them- 4380 hours. Is there anyone worth more than $100 an hour? I don't think so! That equates to $438 grand round it up to $1/2 million and set that as the absolute maximum pay anyone is entitled to. Anyone who can't live on that needs a course in grade 3 math! The whole thing has gotten way out of hand.

And while on the subject these professional basketball played can get trimmed back a tad too. The little man has been ripped off far too long.

Northern Ontario,
Screw mechanization, lets all go back to horse and buggy, picks and shovels and then we'll see how the growing population of the world gets fed, housed and moves around.
Somebody probably cried and moaned when the wheel was invented...

Well I find this comment interesting..

"We are so funny. Evolving and putting so much effort in making ourselves useless / uneeded. I Wonder if my kids will even get the chance to have a job" - Nny

Start putting some cash away for your kids and maybe they can live-off the proceeds. At very least, it can supplement their income

... So, how much do you pay your employees at the orchard?... Pension plan?... Optical and medical coverage?... Matching RRSPs?... Full job security?

Are they paid a 'living wage' such hat they can afford to buy an average house in a middle class neighbourhood in Kelowna?

Yeah, didn't think so, but nice to see that you've confidently identified those that are 'sucking wealth out of the system'.

Careful what you wish for.... Want to start on analysing 'the math', the next step is to calculate the actual, real inputs for things like pensions and delivering only what what actually contributed.

Chances are you won't like the result

After you've fed, clothed, housed and educated your kids for 18 years or so, how much more does one really owe their kids? I think if you check history you will find the ones who did best were the ones who were given the least as kids and taught to be independent at an early age. Read the biographies of Andrew Carnegie and Thomas Edison!

We prefer the term "African American smiths."

Aboriginal smiths works well too. :) :)

If Boomer is worried about his kids, then this is an option.

By the by, Edison and Carnegie were both raging capitalists... No salary cap in effect there.
