Yep. And the Canadians were so polite! They said "Sore-ry we're stealing your land. Have some poutine."

That's all us savages ever wanted, really. We're good with the rape, the torture, the mass murder, the mutilation, the genocide. We're just terribly upset by rudeness.

A Mohawk friend of mine puts it this way: We have no Honour.

No, he's not Klingon.

Sorry to hear that.

.. a long time ago. I've ridden the bus from Kelowna to Montreal (one continuous trip) and from Halifax to Montreal (another single, contiuous trip) so I can fairly honestly say that I've crossed the country by bus.

Riding in a greyhound bus is the equivalent of riding in a rolling Walmart

ummmm Yup! That's it!

You haven't seen Canada until you've shared your seat with a succession of bums guzzling down cheap Peppermint Schnapps.

Meh, when I was younger my second home was the Greyhound for a Year.. and Via Rail with the Canrail Pass & The Greyhound Discovery Pass.

Gives you a month of travel on the Bus or Train anywhere they go..

You have to travel the country by surface to get to know it. You miss all of the good stuff while flying over it. I've been driving (or driven) across Canada since I was seven and I have made the trip several times over the years. What an incredible place!

Yeah me too, Vancouver to the Maritimes and well as a trucker all over the lower 48 states.

I love to travel.. my parents every bloody weekend would go for a drive, and as a child we (family) drove from coast to coast.. it gets into your blood, you just want to travel..

I've been to 42 of the fifty states (missed the biggest one, California ... been all around it, though!) I probably know the U.S. better than most Americans do.

It's best served at -40. Do not, repeat do nor mix with Creme de mint and then shake well. We use to call it duck hunting medicine, more than once we got there and forgot to get out of the truck. Come to think of it there were a few rodeos where we didn't get out of the parking lot till about midnight and we got there at 6AM. Oh, yes, the good old days.

Standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
You must have seen life from the wrong side of the fence.

Train is the way to go. I've done Canada from coast to coast to coast on VIA.

Have you ever observed what Canada looked like at Confederation and what it looks like today? You have the balls to bring up "Manifest Destiny"?

I see you decided to crawl out of your hole, do a drive by, and turn another thread into a hate Canada thread. So predictable.

What's the fare compared to the bus, twice? three times? Remember the good old days when you could ride the bus for a few months for $99?

That's not too difficult.

You been to Meteor Crater?

Not specifically there, no but I've been to the Painted Desert, San Francisco Mountains and a whole lot of Anasazi Pueblos

oh, and Tombstone!

ole Walter gave me a "bad" for that statement. I can't imagine why as it is almost certainly 100% correct. Anyone who has been back and forth a lot in this country would know it better than most Canadians, too.

I've come to the conclusion that "Walter" is some sort of a kook.
