Northern Ontario,
if I had a penny for every cliche used in these comments I would be able to redistribute the means of production to the masses

still it's missing quotes from the black book, mccarthy, and massive numbers indicating the deaths incurred in the name of communism
A few cliches of socialism, some you might have even used.......

"The more complex the society, the more government control we need."
"If we had no social security, many people would go hungry."
"The government should do for the people what the people are unable to do for themselves."
"Too much government? Just what would you cut out?"
"Why, you'd take us back to the horse and buggy." (Or, now, "back to the 1950's")
"The free market ignores the poor."
"We believe in presenting both sides."
"If free enterprise really works, why the Great Depression?"
"The United States Constitution was designed for an agrarian society.
"Tell me, just what liberties have you lost?

"The government can do it cheaper because it doesn't have to make a profit."
"If government doesn't relieve distress, who will?"
"I prefer security to freedom."
"Individual workers are too weak to bargain with corporations."
"Society is to blame, not I."
"There ought to be a law."
"Socialism works in Sweden."

Thank you for demonstrating my point.

what point? the only point proven was mine. the point that only cliches stemming archaic propaganda are used to demonize socialism. like stalin was actually practicing soclaism or something. so what chapter of the communist manifesto talks about spying on its own citizens and executing them? oh wrong book, that's the cia handbook.

A few cliches of socialism, some you might have even used.......

most of those aren't even cliches , just statements that are true or false depending on the context.

you don't know what socialism is.

Well, SURE I do! It's sunshine and lollypops and rainbows everywhere and everyone is equal and everything is powered by sunbeams and unicorns race each other on the chocolate-and-peppermint roads and fairy dust creates wealth and food is free and every gets paid enough to live a leisurely life and peace and harmony abound and no one is in charge.

If you're too lazy to research what socialism actually is why would I explain it? Particularly when you've not shown an interest in learning what it is because you already think you know what it is. I'll just tell you when you're equating Stalinist polices and the soviet union with socialism you need to brush up on your knowledge.

what point?
The point that stupid appendixes like you are certain that if you can only get to TRUE SOCIALISM, everything will be wonderful.

You're as deluded as the bible-bashers who think that TRUE CHRISTIANITY will solve all our problems, if only we wub each other like Jeebus told us to.

Appendixes, the lot of you.

I've been criticizing capitalism because it's awful and defending socialism against ignorance. But never did I claim socialism would absolutely solve all our problems.

Capitalism surely deserves a power of criticism. But you claim that socialism is wunnerful, whilst simultaneously claiming it's never been truly practiced.

Might could wanna get some beta testing in before you roll it out.
