Yeah, I hate government employees! All those soldiers, cops, firefighters, park rangers, prosecutors, judges. Lazy scum sitting around doing nothing on the backs of the poor, poor, suffering taxpayers. It's an OUTRAGE!

You forgot MeterMaids and Dept. of Motor Vehicle employees.

You also forgot the rich Defined Benefit Pension Plans for the porky govt. employees. They should be converted to Defined Contribution Plans like most private sector employees have.

...
The rules are so complicated.

Get a lawyer to figure it out for you.

The 1% argument is moving from one of necessity, to one of luxury and greater freedom, imo.

I'm not convinced that redistributing wealth would somehow 'save the economy' or that the economy really needs saving to begin with. You have people on the lower end of the spectrum that can afford a decent life, and there is enough opportunity for them to accumulate some reasonable wealth.

That said, politically, I would be worried if we had a bourgeois society of a handful of nameless yet powerful people that can unfairly influence policy for their own gain.

I think that when we have more people with greater wealth, there is a greater desire to maintain and uphold values that are universal.

So, in that sense, wealth redistribution is something we should definitely consider.

Why do you hate George Soros the wealthy convicted felon?

As Canadians, we don't care which filthy rich people finance which party in the US. When 48 people own half the wealth of the world, there is something seriously wrong with the system. It boggles my mind how many people on here support their own slavery and that think that voting for one party or another is going to change anything, The rich own you no matter if the Republicans or the Democrats get in power. Same in Canada, Europe Asia, Africa. You think Soros and the Dems are the problem, then you have no idea what the hell is going on. This has nothing to do with politics in the US or anywhere else. This is a global problem and those who rule keep everybody fighting each other so there is no chance that there will ever be a united front to challenge their control.

You are 'owned' only if you allow yourself to be.
You aren't owned at all. That's the meaning of the Thirteenth Amendment, and parallel laws in Canada. They don't forbid owning slaves, they make it impossible to own slaves.

I'm agreeing with you, just in different terms.

Blaming gvt or 'the rich' is the easy way out, that is the real illusion that you are programming yourself to believe
Beats hell outta taking action to bring about something you like better. That sh*t is hard work!

I am conscious of the circumstances to which you allude; however, we are all prisoners of time and space. In my time and space the American left has been the greatest source of "sin." The American left is in charge of all of the institutions of the United States. Big Business/Big Capitalism is part and parcel of Big Govt. which is the creature of the American Left. The sinners who control so much wealth are part of the fusion of Big Business and Big Govt. controlled by the left. The sins of the left must be expiated in order to create a new order raising up the working and middle classes. The end result of this new order does not involve the continued existence of the United States as a polity.

This is interesting, this man is proof of the multiverse theory. He's clearly living in another universe than the rest of us.
