So, this comes out.

Prompting this.
He said the Liberals backed sending 69 special forces soldiers to Iraq and were supportive of the idea of training and advising the Kurdish peshmerga. "The part we had a problem with was the involvement of the CF-18s, and the reason for that was we had nine other countries providing strike aircraft. It was overkill," he said on CBC TV's Power and Politics. "There were better ways to use Canadian military resources."
Oh, COME ON Garneau. Overkill? That's the best you guys can do?

Come on, you can say it...say it...say it! Here, let me help you..."My leader is a nincompoop."

You can hear Ivison laughing while writing the column. "Snort...train the Kurdish militias in Manitoba...Har, Har, Har! Oh, heavens, I can't breathe."

I just can't help but laugh too, I think of all the serious Liberal politicians, Goodale is one, and I try and imagine what they're thinking, and then I laugh some more.

This is very funny. Of all the reasons they could be there this is the most unlikely. It would be like bunnies training hyenas.

I think what it means is 'our guys' will get the same training as 'these guys', along with some sensitivity training for when the get into Canada as millionaire refugees.

BAGHDAD — More than 40 Syrian soldiers who had sought temporary safety in Iraq from rebel fighters along the border were killed on Monday in an attack by unidentified gunmen as the Iraqi military was transporting the soldiers back to Syria in a bus convoy, the Iraqi government said.

First of all the Kurds don't have enough fighters now but throwing them into
the fight untrained is cannon fodder at its worst. Outside country training for
some is not out of the question though we did that during WWII for a number
of allied forces that should be remembered.
The fact is Canadians do support limited action they just don't yet understand
we are in a full blown war and it will require a lot more involvement before its
over

It is popularly believed that a majority of the uninformed is grounds for confidence but seldom understood that this confidence is most appreciated by the well informed while the uniformed remain uninformed but placated. ISIS is attacking western enemies therefore ISIS is allied with the west. Limited action is like soft concrete. While the physics may be limited the intent is clear.

It appears most Canadians don't have a clue what is going on. Might have something to do with having their opinions hand fed to them. Critical thought doesn't seem to be a priority with most Canadians, obviously.

Some people seem to forget that opinions are formed from life experience, and listening to several different views...
Most of those in this forum who claim to have independent thoughts really don't....
one example is they, on both sides bitch against Fox News. Sun TV, or MSNBC, and in another thread claim they don't even watch them or don't have it on their TV.

Sounds like the Liberals see which way the wind is blowing and are trying to back pedal their position.

Im not too surprised that the majority support the mission.

Anything to back that up?

Shouldn't we put all our forces in Mexico, undercover as rich tourists, and the locals will give us all the best tips? It worked in 1812 and terrorists aren't known for their speed in adopting new tactics. Sneaky is one thing that can be beat by being twice as sneaky.

To Mexico???? , can that amnesty be pre-emptive in that I get some before my first visit? If I arrive in a 20 man ocean survival life-raft does that speed up the paperwork. Just me and that big trunk of money. (and that monthly pension cheque in case the trunk sinks of gets stolen along the way.

Why is you can always tell when a cease-fire is happening as somebody unloads all their remaining stock? (and then starts reaming right away)

The following is a prime example of why we should not be fighting over there.

This is the Middle Easts fight and it's about time some of the are stepping up and taking action.

I get it that Egypt and the others aren't nice places but let them take ISIS out......

Sixty-four Islamic State fighters have been killed and dozens wounded in Egyptian-Libyan military airstrikes on Libya, announced the spokesperson of the Libyan military, reported Al-Ahram.

The airstrikes, Egypt’s first foreign strikes since the Gulf War in 1991, come after ISIS released a video depicting the decapitation of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians that had been abducted in Libya.

According to Egypt’s military, the airstrikes were carried out in coordination with Libyan officials and targeted multiple ISIS locations, including weapons storage facilities, training points and buildings housing militants.

Government officials have said that the airstrikes are the first of several to come which will aim to target terrorist elements in Libyan territory, said state media Al-Ahram.
