Of course, do not blame the old guy for being ignorant. Just hammer the business.
no need to hammer the business, no need to blame the old guy, just move him around the corner with a coffee and some chilli and all of this would have been avoided

and maybe they have been doing that. Maybe he didn't take the hint when it was presented nicely.

there are other ways to handle the situation which would have left the old guy and his dog dry and achieved the same ends no?

such acts lower us

Glad to see someone on here with a little savvy and sagacity!

Yup, but what is the reaction towards the business with the very minimal information given.
some feel the business is completely blameless and justified, others feel the potential employee is at fault, others blame the business

in fact we do not know all of the facts only that some *sshat poured water on a homeless guy and his dog

perhaps he had been told repeatedly to move, perhaps he had not

facts are sketchy

assumptions are high

Quit changing the subject. Losers are losers regardless of how you make excuses and business is a bunch of peoples living, why fuk it up? I doubt that you ever ran a business successfully.

I don't recall changing the subject at any time, just dealing with other aspects of the subject. How is soaking a homeless man going to improve a person's business? Actually it works in reverse as patrons of that business see first hand just what an A$$hole one of the employees are.

As far as I know there are no laws being broken there. Sometimes you just can't go back!

Nah, I'm pretty sure most of the damage was done before Harcourt arrived on the scene. Socialists screwed up a lot of sh*t but I don't think that was part of it. I think Billy Wooden shoes did most of the damage.

Check the dates. cut backs started under Barret, Bennet Vander Zalm, Johnston they whacked by Harcourt.

He was a government employee pretty much his entire life. I think that says about all that needs to be said.

"love it when people make comments about shyte they know nothing about since they didn't live there, didn't have to put up with the fall out"
Gerry, Gerry, Gerry- You're being f**king stupid again not to mention a hypocrite of the first order. How does who one works for diminish his/her wisdom and knowledge? My business happened to be building roads and bridges- what has that got to do with Timmy's?

Is there a less offensive way to get rid of a feral person that won't go away after being asked to leave and quit pestering customers for change?

could be...some street people are *sshats just like the rest of us

No doubt but does that give a fairly prosperous person by comparison the right to abuse him? On my walks most days I walk past half a dozen of these guys panhandling, most of them are NOT aggressive (just sit on a bench with their cap out, remaining silent.) I don't contribute to them for two reasons, one it wouldn't do them any good- just encourage dependence and two there is a kitchen within 3 blocks that provides three meals a day, which I do occasionally contribute a paltry amount to. They need food and clothing, not booze and dope.

yes

the guy has a dog that actually stays with him, we both know that with certain street people that would be completely impossible therefore this individual possibly/probably has good reasoning capability

we both also know, some people are just *ssholes and reactive and love to brutalize others that they identify as possible victims

there are not enough details to blame buddy and his dog either

I don't think they are asked to leave in Vernon as they are permanently situated near 3 of the banks and right in front of Shoppers Drug Mart. They don't generally bother me. A month ago a young kid early 20s asked me for change right after the massive snow fall. I said lots of snow shovelling jobs out there. He said "not anymore". I didn't bother to say "Bullsh*t".
