Convicted felons not having guns?? Do you think they care about the laws?? Probably why they are felons.
So because criminals dont care about these laws, then dont have them? By that logic we might as well do away with all laws, after all criminals dont care about them anyway.

Great film, and I agree with you about Kilmer. I think the fact that he wasn't even nominated for Best Supporting Actor is a disgrace. But the film is pretty accurate, and it brings up problems we still deal with today, like. . .

When you decide you're gonna be all peaceful and loving and "ain't gonna study war no more," what do you do about those who decide they're gonna go for a master's degree in war?

When you're fighting the bad guys, the line can get pretty thin between the good guys and the bad guys (Doc and Johnny Ringo).

Sometimes the good guys ain't all that good.

It's fine to sit around on the internet and blame people for not being perfect, but life is tougher and more complex than that.
The glorification of violence goes way back and continues to this day. The proverbial "best way to destroy your enemy, is to make him your friend, ", can only work in a collective sense. It's a matter of maturity and loss of egos. Still waiting so no more of my loved ones have to die by the boys toys.

I liked Dan Delaneys' line in the movie. "He tried to bring some beauty into your ugly world, and you killed him for it". I liked her line.

I liked the line too. Do you think it would have stopped the Nazis?

Actually, I'm not that hard to figure out at all. I'm quite conservative. I just don't deny problems exist.

Are women and non-whites systemically discriminated against in the U.S. Sure they are.

Now people like Boomer are saying "Just another anti-white, anti-Christian, anti-gun, anti-freedom leftie."

They never get to the key question, because as you say, they've assigned me to a box in what passes for their minds.

The key question is "What should we do about it?" and for me the answer is usually "Nothing."

Once you have passed laws mandating equal treatment, the residual inequity can only be resolved by time.

Same with guns. My opinions line up just about exactly with Colpy's. You may note that he and I go at it like blazes on many issues, but never on guns. I agree with the freedom to keep and bear arms, with reasonable restrictions. But I don't deny that easy access to guns causes problems. Hence Boom thinks I'm a gun hater. I've already said why that is.
well part of the confusion comes from your slide along the continuum on various issues such as your separating your human rights stand from your political persuation most people do not appear to do that so anyone reading your defense on that would incorrectly assume you lean left. Although you have stated repeatedly that you do not.

Also the pink pony throws some into a tizzy...lol

I used to think we should force people to be human and kind...meh, the older I get the more I accept it's not possible and people can't be forced into anything good and the desire to make others get it has worn off...we all have our own karma that we pull and it gives sufficient suffering to those who cause others pain. That has to be good enough.

Please quit putting words into my mouth, I think your a flip flopping lying troll, and an anti-Gun lefti.

As to your Anti-white, anti-Christian comments, I have no opinion as to your silly flip flopping views, who know from day-to-day.

You're like Calgary weather, don't like it, wait 5 minutes it'll change.

Typical Troll, never to be taken seriously.

Carrying weapons makes for a fearful society.
If we have any kind of altercation you will shoot me to solve it.
You know, if I'm not polite enough.

The evidence says otherwise.

In the USA, the murder rate is dropping, despite the fact there are 11 million licensed to carry handguns concealed, plus there are states in which no license is required.

And when I say "dropping" I mean 50% in 20 years.

The murder rate among licensed carriers?

0.5 per 100,000..............compared to 4.7 in the general population, and 1.5 in Canada.

Yep, find a box in your mind and stick me in it, Boom. Easier than thinking. Which for you is the hardest thing of all.
