The UN ultimately gets to pick so this has more to do with diplomacy than military.

I should have known... Britain's 'icebreaker' is a pretend vessel, keeping in step with the pretend navy that you boast of.

Well, I suppose that if there is a game of pretend navy battle going on, Britain will really do well

The UN ultimately gets to pick so this has more to do with diplomacy than military.

No one listens to the UN, MF.... Been this way for a number of years now

How embarassing for the Canadians that they have to surrender to the Danes because that country of just 5.6 million people has a bigger navy than they do.

To me it has nothing to do with who has the bigger navy. If Canada had the most powerful navy in the world and Denmark the weekest, but Denmark could prove that it was the legal owner, I would still support that Canada acknowledge that.
Sadly enough, I'm not convinced that would happen. It seems militarism and nationalism has replaced justice in this country.

Captain, the British navy is far more powerful than ours.

Would Canada fight over its claims?

If international law should conclusively prove it's ours, we should be prepared to do so on principle. Unfortunately, we are probably prepared to fight to take it away from its rightful owner. I think Canada has lost its sense of fair play.

The UN ultimately gets to pick so this has more to do with diplomacy than military.

And more to do with international law than diplomacy.
