Well I don't pray period, if God is there as it were he knows what I need or want
And if I am going to get those things I have to work toward getting them and no
amount of praying for it will make it happen.
For those who want to pray let them pray, for the rest of us let it be and as Walter
says say your prayers in private. I don't disrespect those who pray I just ignore
the propaganda of prayer that's all

Yeah, I kind of think "getting busy" pays more dividends than praying!

Even Jesus prayed to a God, but were his prayers answered?
Was that a prayer He said when He was talking to Mary M. when He was talking about ascending to God to be glorified? On the day of the return (Re:10 is how the saved see it) He lifts His arms up to the same position as they were on the cross and you should read about what happens after, really, you should read what happens after that.

He asked his disciples to be save. But they were all killed.
God set a time limit of 120 years as being how long a man could live in the first birth before the judgment that elevated him to the 2nd birth would happen. Moses was the first man that had his ticket punched because he had reached that age, or just about at that age, God sent him to the grave to make sure his sins were cleansed, that is the purpose of death, weeds (uh,thorny food) is the punishment of sin. Since the gathering is a group event the time spent there is equal to one blink no matter how much time you spend there. It is only the ones who have 1 day (rather than 3 days and night) to be purified so the 'classroom is open and no blinks allowed)

Jesus wants his disciples to remain in this world and not to be taken away. But that prayer was not answered...they were all eventually killed.

John 17: 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.
All remained faithful unto death, they drank the cup Jesus gave them, there would be no test if you were given immortality as part of 'stage 1' The Apostles were in the same state that Jesus was in with God from the baptism until
In order too, Paul got a little pompous at time when showing the Clergy Moses like stuff including 40 years of teaching. God also sunk his ship more than one or twice, none were ever destined to read Revelation before they died and that was aranged by having a Disciple of John the Baptist, she also died just before she was 120 so she and Moses would qualify as the first and last of the 12 Tribes as far as Prophets goes, as a Daughter of Aaron she would be equal to Miriam, Moses's sister.

Jesus asked that that the world would believe him, that he was sent by God. But the Jews rejected him and asked that he be crucified. Another prayer of Jesus went unanswered.

John 17: 21 that they may all be one, just as you , Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
As mentioned above, the night of the resurrection Jesus baptized all the ones at the meeting and He was with them the same way God was with Jesus for the next 40 days. That fast for the Apostles would have given them the same strength Jesus had before the cross as He had the power that comes with prayer and fasting. The best any of can ever do is reading about power over word.

And finally before and at the crucifixion.

Signs of a protest by Jesus the night before and at the crucifixion. How revealing is that!!!

Matthew 26:39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."
The Bible doesn't work as well if you leave any prophecy unfulfilled. Sending Jesus to the grave was harsh, when He is there to pull people out of the grave He won't be saying the same prayer, we know that because Re:10 tell us what He will be saying to God when that moment arrives, that comes moments after he says 'It is done.' in Re:16 as He pours out the last vial signifying the completion of both Ge:3:15 bruises.

And when the moment happened and he was made the sacrificial lamb he protested even louder.

Matthew 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?").
Grief has a tendency to do that to a person. Probably why why we should avoid it as much as possible.

Isa:53:10:
Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him;
he hath put him to grief:
when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin,
he shall see his seed,
he shall prolong his days,
and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

What is the saying God helps those who help themselves
'Father, Son and Holy Ghost, 1st one there gets the most.' isn't a prayer either, . . . not everybody knows that. The littlest one at the supper tables knows it isn't anywhere in the whole book.

Not so!

I have repeatedly asked for a wealthy wife and that has not been granted.

Why the hell not????

Because god doubts your intentions. Do you want the comfort and strength of a woman or the gold she might have? God is not stupid he can see through your plastic wrap, you're just after the gold, it won't keep you warm at night. How long have you been looking for MRS right? Do yourself a favour and settle for a nice woman, warmer than gold sweeter than silver, if you know what I mean.

Throw in a 'Hear Ye' at the beginning and you'll have have them tripping all over each other. How do you break it too him that is against god's own laws that He couldn't sent a woman to that sort of punishment without having to do some hard time in hell Himself. Obviously the asking price is too high or the prayer would have been answered and God's return offer might be to send in the same negotiator that Job had. I'm thinking his score might be lower, I know mine would be.

A man has many needs and wealth can be used to acquire and satisfy those needs. If God was a man he would know just having a woman companion isn't enough. A wealthy wife meets both those needs. If Jesus was offered a wealthy wife by God. The Gospels would have ended with a big "Thank You, Lord".

Instead Jesus spoke for all mankind.

Matthew 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?").
