Oh I don't dispute the dictionary definition. Neither do I dispute the definition of Satan, Angel or even Ogre or elf. Theology exists just as does Philosophy, or Biology.......it is the study of Religion, Beliefs or that of plants, humans, etc.

There is a huge stretch between belief and truth.

I think you've been reading Genesis where it says "a day is to a thousand years as a thousand years is to a day", I think both terms are pretty nebulous...............no pretty much bull sh*t!

Actually that was Peter in the NT that supplied that info. Perhaps the text that said adam would die in the same day he ate and dieing at 930 years of age is the part you are missing.

You don't have to be a believer to put that parts of Scripture that belong together, . . . together. You could do that with a work of fiction also. With that element missing perhaps your inability to add things together is not the Bible's fault but your's alone.

The original sin was Satan telling a lie, Adam did die on the same day he ate, back then a day was considered to be 1,000 years long.

Even if a being called Satan ever existed, humans for one reason or another have always lied. We start when we first begin to talk, not because we understand a lie but we know even that young (through how adults reacted to certain acts)n sometimes the truth could bring punishment. From infancy we are learning what is acceptable and what is not. It takes a few years before we realize that a lie doesn't always work and we nearly always get chastised twice . Once for the first action and then for the lie.

My goodness you cannot prove an outrageous premise by quoting the written beliefs of tribal barbarians. It is tantamount to trying to prove Pinnochio' s nose was made of oak or maple,, instead of accepting a boy made of wood actually never existed, never mind had a nose that grew with his lies.

You may believe what you wish, just don't insist the rest of the world join you. As far reincarnation goes, there is more proof of it than anything written in the Bible. Read some of Dr .Moodie's books about what some very young children remember of other lives. Very interesting.

WHAT.......and exactly what are you??? Not exactly the most tolerant that I noticed!! The idea that because one doesn't believe how one hopes does not make one intolerant nor a bigot. By the way, I consider the bible on a par with big foot sightings. After all when was the last time anyone spoke with a burning bush, or witnessed the dead rising after 3 days in dessert heat. So does this make me an intolerant bigot??

Did you read any of the books by Sylvia Browne? A lot of detail about numerous incarnations, but I think she broke through the "bullsh*t barrier".

I've probably said this about a dozen times before but for recent members I think we should recognize that this "stop" (life) is a like a station on a long train ride. Otherwise I'm not sure I can see a hell of a lot of sense to this "existence".
