you link to an article that highlights a court brief defamation case, with an emphasis on the action as being the, "stated intention of Dr. Mann's request is to expedite moving to trial on a case that has been long-delayed in procedural tangles."..... and you think you're providing... what again? What did the Capt say about Mann? The suit hasn't even gone to court, therefore, Mann isn't required to "prove" a hell of a lot of anything at this point. Get it yet dummy? I was making your argument for you, dummy.
There are 2 actions involving Mann, one by Mark Stein and one involving Timothy Ball.
In Tim Ball's case, it was Mann that was suing Ball. Ball subpoenaed Mann to produce the raw data, the Court agreed and ordered Mann to produce documents... He has failed to do so despite the multiple Orders.
As such, Mann's case against Ball was dropped by the Court (presumably because Mann refused to comply, and therefore stopped representing himself)... Ball has gone on to file a counter-suit and is seeking to have the data provided.

The "cappy" statement he refuses to substantiate speaks to "discovery motions", ya think... which could be in relation to earlier court. But thanks... it's quite telling how "cappy" gets a free pass around here from having to support his claims. no - as was shown earlier, that Mann-Ball case has not been dropped (I believe it was member 'Zipperfish' that brought that update forward with a link to the BC Online Court Services). I'm aware of Mark Steyn filing a counter-suit... I'm unaware of any such Tim Ball counter-suit against Mann. You saying so... is simply you saying so!
You are unaware of a great many things. Particularly anything that does not back your claim.
So, it appears you rely on others to supply links that support your argument. I guess lazy sums you up nicely.

Again, "cappy" made the broadest statement/claim with no details as to what litigation it might apply to. You trundle forward with a link that simply speaks to... ONE... of those cases. What you think and declare as DEFINITIVE... is not. I guess obtuse sums you up nicely.

Not me, I don't think. I knew about Sten and Mann but not Ball and Mann. Regardless, the outcome of the court cases isn't going to change anything.
And that still will not change anything. There's this weird thing with the deniers I like to call the Inverse Tinkerbell Theory: "If everybody doesn't believe it, then it won't be true!"
Who knows?
It doesn't matter because failing to believe in it is not going to stop carbon dioxide from accumulating in the atmosphere and emitting longwave radiation back to the surface of the earth. If the deniers effectively stop any response to climate change, all that will happen is that the truth will become apparent sooner than it otherwise might have.
